Backcountry.com Cocona Trail Sock - 3 Pair

May 27, 2009

Looks like there could be a problem with stitching on some of these socks, but it wouldn't be hard to repair. Regardless, these are the best socks I've had yet!

Pretty good

Backcountry.com Cocona Trail Sock - 3 Pair

Backcountry.com Cocona Trail Sock - 3 Pair

Rating for this product: 4 May 27, 2009

I've been wearing these socks for several weeks now and I can say they definitely do their job! Moisture-wicking is fantastic, odor control is great, and they fit true to size. The only problem I have is I noticed some weak spots in the stitching inside the ankle that could possibly fail over time. Overall, an AWESOME sock! Seriously, I have several pair of smartwool socks and these are WAY better...especially in hot weather (I live in Texas). I have a size 11-11.5 foot and the size LG fit perfect. Good buy!

Awesome pants!

KUHL Hi-Lo Cord Pant - Men's

KUHL Hi-Lo Cord Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 25, 2009

I really like the Kuhl brand, and this is definitely one of their best! The fit is true to size (I'm 6ft 170lbs and medium was perfect). The fabric is very comfortable yet sturdy. The only thing I'd say as a warning is animal hair sticks to these pants pretty bad. The stitching and design is excellent and the pants look great! The cell phone pocket isn't that functional due to the fact that it doesn't have any button or velcro to keep your phone from falling out. I'm very happy with these pants and I think they'll last a long time.

Mountain Hardwear Langley Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Langley Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 May 24, 2009

This shirt looks very nice and the fabric is very comfortable but... the sleeves a HUGE! I am 6ft 170lbs and the medium fits good EXCEPT the sleeves are ridiculous. It looks like I'm wearing my dad's shirt cuz the sleeves stick out a good 4-5 inches. Maybe some older guys like this baggy sleeve look but for those who like a more athletic fit these shirts are not for you.

Z Best Shorts EVER!

KUHL Z Cargo Short - Men's

KUHL Z Cargo Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 24, 2009

I love Zees shorts zay are Z best! Seriously, great feeling fabric breathes very good but still feels rugged enough to take any camping/hiking/climbing trip head on. These shorts seem to be very well thought out as far as the pockets and the fit. My favorite thing is the adjustable waist...brilliant. USA made baby!

The 12in inseam means these actually fit like "normal" cargo shorts that most people are used to these days (the come all the way down to your knees). I'm 6ft 170lbs with a 32in waist and the size medium fit perfect.

Definitely recommended!

Petzl e+LITE Emergency Headlamp

Rating for this product: 5 May 21, 2009

If you do ANYTHING outdoors you should have one of these! This thing is not just for emergencies, it will light up the whole campsite. Fits in a case the size of a pack of gum which means it's perfect for backpacking. I'm so happy I bought this, and you will be too!

CRKT Tiny Tighe Breaker Knife

CRKT Tiny Tighe Breaker Knife

Rating for this product: 3 May 15, 2009

While the knife is nice... it did open in my pocket accidentally the first day! I was being pretty active and I was wearing basketball shorts so the fabric could've grabbed. I would say this is a nice knife for CASUAL outings, and NOT for active outings.

Mad Rock Flash Climbing Shoe - Men's

Mad Rock Flash Climbing Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 13, 2009

Great deal these shoes! The Rubber grabs very well and they fit good. I usually wear a size 11-11.5 in Nike running shoes and the size 10.5 fits perfectly...nice and snug with a slight curl in my toes. It's nice to be able to just undo the velcro straps and get out (especially at the gym). I would definitely recommend these shoes!

Bring some rain!

The North Face Venture Jacket - Men's

The North Face Venture Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 13, 2009

I love this jacket! It's simple, it works great, and it packs nicely into it's own stow pocket (left pocket). The fit is exactly what I like... that is it comes to just below the waist on the front and tapers down in the back. I am 6ft 17lbs and size medium fits great (still has room for layers underneath but not too baggy at all). I got the Yam color and I love it! Can't beat the price!

Mountain Hardwear Canyon Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Canyon Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 13, 2009

Very comfortable, fit nicely (I'm 6ft, 170 lbs and size M is perfect). If you're looking for something that feels "rugged" these pants don't. Water seems to shed nicely, and I really like the draw cords on the ankles. A good HOT weather/ climbing pair of pants.

p.s. the belt works just fine for me, I haven't had any issues with it coming undone

Mountain Hardwear Lamina 45 Sleeping Bag: 45 Degree Synthetic

Mountain Hardwear Lamina 45 Sleeping Bag: 45 Degree Synthetic

Rating for this product: 5 May 13, 2009

I think this bag is gonna be the PERFECT summer bag. If you live/travel down south like I do you definitely need a light weight bag... plus it packs WAY smaller than those bulky down winter bags! I really like that it comes with a storage bag and a compression bag as well. I'm '6 and the size Regular works just fine for me. Definitely recommended.

The shoe seems to be great, only I have narrow feet (I usually ware Nike) and it's just too wide. I wish it fit better cuz I definitely would have kept these! These things look AWESOME.

I've had the jacket a few weeks now and I love it! Breathes great, blocks the wind, the interior feels nice and soft for next to skin wearing. I can't imagine any other jacket in this class coming close to this quality for this price! Buy one now. Oh, and it looks killer.
