Perfect with Chaco Hikers!

Columbia Cascade Crest Low Hiking Sock - Women's

Columbia Cascade Crest Low Hiking Sock - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 25, 2009

I bought these specifically to wear with my waterproof Chaco Mid vent hikers. They fit like a glove - well .. like a sock because a glove on your foot would be uncomfortable but a perfect sock. My feet are not stinky after along day on and off the trails. I do not get blisters. They stay soft and hold their shape after multiple washings. (Note: I NEVER PUT SOCKS IN THE DRYER!) Wash in cold, lay out to dry. They will have minimal shrinkage the first wash but without the heat they stay wearable for a longtime.
I've worn other socks with my Chaco's ... when I was lazy and forgot to wash these ... and it makes me miserable every time. They go together like abbott and Costello. Both are a great price on backcountry.com. Don't get one without the other.

Great Arch Support & Comfy Too!

Chaco Canyonland Mid eVent Hiking Shoe - Women's

Chaco Canyonland Mid eVent Hiking Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 23, 2009

I needed a lightweight hiker to wear daily. ( I work at an environmental center.) They had to be comfy enough to wear indoors, in the classrooms, and tough enough for the trails - all the while prividing support for my plantars faciatis and torn ligament in my ankle.
These do it all. I can wear them with my ankle brace ior without and still be comfortable. My plantars has not been hurting. I paired these with the Columbia lightwt. wool hiking socks and they make such a difference.
There is a small amount of heel slip in all the Chaco hikers I tried on - low or mid vent. I was worried initially about blisters but it has been totally a non-issue.
If you need a reliable, comfortable, well arched hiker - buy these. Backcountry has the best price around ... buy two. :)
