The North Face Varius Guide Jacket - Men's
February 4, 2011
I have a Denali and it is a nightmare to get in and out of when you zip it into a jacket. If you plan on using the Denali as a layering piece, you'll be happier if you don't plan on zip-in and just put it on first then put on the shell. If you want an effective piece to zip-in and leave it in, look at the TNF Redpoint as an insulation layer. After I got that, I wished I have never spent a dime on that Denali.

The North Face Redpoint Insulated Jacket - Men's
February 4, 2011
I have both a 200 and 300 weight fleeces from TNF that zip in as well as a Redpoint. I added the Redpoint last and I'm pissed that I never saw it before I bought the fleeces. If you want an insulation piece to add to the shell and leave it in all winter, this is the one you want. The slick material in this jacket makes it easy to put on and off. The fleeces insulate well but make it difficult to get in and out of the combined piece, defeating the purpose of the zip-in feature.

The North Face Redpoint Insulated Jacket - Men's
January 11, 2010
I am looking at picking this up as a layering piece to zip-in to my shell as my fleeces make it a pain to slip in and out of a combined jacket. I tried on a M and a L. I like the fit of a L in this jacket but my shell is a M, does anyone know if I should be able to zip these two together or does the length very and kill my idea.

The North Face Pamir WindStopper Jacket - Men's
March 2, 2009
hmmm, medium will fit your needs, but probably wont fit as "perfect" as your denali...but a medium definitly wont be too small=======================================I know my answer might be late for you, but I felt I should answer because I just compared both jackets. I just returned a Windwall 2, the collar was giant on it. Before I picked up the Pumir, I ran over to a local shop that had both jackets in stock to compare how they fit. The Pumir's arms are a bit longer and the collar is a normal size. I found that the midsection on both jackets to be the about the same size.

Marmot Warmlight Fleece Vest - Men's
February 20, 2009
If you are looking for pocket options in a vest, I'd suggest TNF Denali, it has 4 large external pockets. I have the full jacket and it serves as my winter "murse".
