G3 240 Elle Professional Probe - Women's

G3 240 Elle Professional Probe - Women's

Rating for this product: 1 September 21, 2010

I am not really sure why there needs to be a probe for women specifically?
Gender of the probe is not important. hahaha

It is there to be a procaution if shit goes down. And the only thing that makes it female is that it fits in a female pack. What does that mean???

Voile Splitboard Climbing Skins

Voile Splitboard Climbing Skins

Rating for this product: 3 April 1, 2010

For the only skin out there for splitboards...we really have no alternative. THE BACK CLIP needs to be invented! Or splitboarding is not great touring long distances. it great for day trips. but for expeditions i dont recommend splitboarding. Burton came up with a back clip around 7 years ago. they need to tell VOILE!

Still needs improvment... but still new.

Osprey Packs Argon 110 Backpack - 6700-7100cu in

March 31, 2010

Staying between 40 to 50% of your body rate is good. going more than that could potentially be not so good.
BUT, if you are in good shape and backpack or mountaineer a fair amount you could end up caring a much heavier load. Mountaineering backpacks can be much heavier due to ropes and more gear. Having a good backpack that fits you is most important.
The Volume of the pack has nothing to do with it. it how much you put in it that matters. Most Osprey packs you can also switch out waiste belts.
i have been leading backpacking trips in winter and summer for 5 years now, and i have the 85 and it is plenty big. But i have friends that have the 110 and say it nice to have a little extra room.

Patagonia Alpine Guide Softshell Pant - Women's

Patagonia Alpine Guide Softshell Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 17, 2009

These pants are terrific! i have used them backpacking in the Grand Canyon and in Alaska. and they worked perfectly in both places. I am usually a cold hiker and i was perfect not to cold, not to hot.
i dont think i will ever wear a different pair pants backpacking again. they also have been great for rock climbing in the winter. overall great pant. in really bad rain, i recommend a rain layer though.
