I wore these as I backpacked through the Smoky Mountains for a week and they were great. Gore Tex pretty much saved my feet as I am not the most coordinated person when it comes to crossing creeks.

The only problem I had with them is that I didn't quite break them in enough before my trip and ended up with blistered heels.

I would recommend them to everyone, just break them in before you head out.
