Lightweight; Heavy Hitter

Ride Insano Focus Boa Snowboard Boot - Men's

Ride Insano Focus Boa Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 8, 2012

Pros:
-Super light; they fell like I am wearing lightweight hiking boot
-Super stiff; great for all-mt riding
-To top of ankle pinch zone; dual BOA tension laces takes care of that. One dial is for the bottom laces and the other for the top...infinite ability of adjustment! 6hrs of riding and no pain in my feet at all.

Con:
-Too Stiff; I will see with some hours logged in them. ( Only had one day logged, so far...)
- Very difficult to remove and reinsert liners for drying out.
- Hook and loop closure on the top of the tongue of some what annoying when putting the boot on. I find myself undoing the tongue multiple times before my foot gets in there.
- Toe cap has a clear smooth plastic band that protects the front of the boot gets nicked very easily and them become noticeable; I like to keep my gear clean...!

Bottom LIne: Comfortable, no ankle pinch, super light, and reasonably priced. *Minus the Ecto-cooler Green!

DAKINE Bronco Glove

DAKINE Bronco Glove

Rating for this product: 5 November 2, 2010

I bought a pair of these in 07-08 season. After three years of abuse they are still kicking, but they have wear and tear all over them and they are starting to smell like a locker room. So, I picked up a new pair from this season and im truely happy with the modifications that Dakine did. Zipper closure is huge and ofcourse they are GORETEX which is the main reason I love these short gloves so much. Durathane palms are super wear resistant. Shred, dude brah!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAKINE Blockade Glove

November 2, 2010

No, unless you have a huge mitten that your are placing them into. I am in between a medium and a large. I go with a large in Dakine, because the medium is just to tight fitting but the large is just oversized enough to be roomy but not bulky for dexterity.

Great Everyday Winter Gloves

DAKINE Blockade Glove

DAKINE Blockade Glove

Rating for this product: 4 November 2, 2010

Just got my gloves in the mail and when I pulled them out I noticed that these were not really GORE - TEX.
They are GORE - WINDSTOPPER. Some what my fault for not paying attention. But BC should have not put TEX in the title description. They get a 4 star for being awesome and windproof, but got dinged a star for being water resistant oppose to waterproof.

Suunto Core Accessory Strap

Suunto Core Accessory Strap

Rating for this product: 4 October 29, 2010

This strap is more durable then was reported on the internet. However, I took a fall on my mountain bike and the watch took the brunt of the force. That is why I had to by a new starp.

Burton Kit Wallet

Burton Kit Wallet

Rating for this product: 2 June 1, 2010

The case is smaller then it looks. Poker is too thick of diameter. Overall, poor design...not worth 20bucks...will be returning. The 3 P's work for me; Pill case, Paper clip, and Pocket.

Great Alternate

CamelBak Ergo Hydrolock

CamelBak Ergo Hydrolock

Rating for this product: 5 May 27, 2010

Great alternative from the staigh values that usually come stock on Camelbaks. I cut the hose right below the stock valuse. Use a lighter or gas stove to heat the end lightly; warm the plastic I should say. Be careful not to allow the hose to touch the flame it will burn the plastic and you will have to start over. I usually just take a lighter and rotate the hose over the flame. Key is to place the valve on when the plastic is still warm. To quickly harden the plastic for a great seal; i submere it in a cup of ice water. Make the plastic harden around the valve.

Clean as Vhisle

CamelBak Hydration Pack Cleaning Kit

CamelBak Hydration Pack Cleaning Kit

Rating for this product: 5 May 27, 2010

I hate Camelbak bladder taste after sitting for a couple of days. I clean mine eveytime the inside of the bladder is slimmy. I also am very keen on the wire hose brush; that is where most mildew grows.I would suggest getting a pack of extra clean tabs...They work wonders but are cholrine and should be handled with care. Dish soap, cheap vodka, or non sugar based mouth washes also work well, but the Chlorine tabs still work the best...I destroyed one bladder in college using it for rum and cokes on the go...Wish this product was around then...haha

Oh and I paid 20buck for this so 15bucks is a steal!

I love this pack so much. I would be devistated if something happened it...oh wait Osprey has one of the best warranties in the market. A clip for holding skis in a Aframe broke when i took a spill. I fill out a form on Osprey's website and they sent me a replacement part out in a week or two. Great service and support.

Bern Baker Hard Hat Helmet w/Knit Liner DO NOT USE

Bern Baker Hard Hat Helmet w/Knit Liner DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 4 May 27, 2010

I got the helmet last sept and could not wait to use it on the slopes. I us a underarmour winter balaclava under it. I thought it would be warm with no vents but keeps my head toasty.

Glad they came out with a EPS foam version.
Yes note if this is a hardhat; AKA like a construction hard hat...if you want more dome protection go with the Bern Baker EPS.

Oh, I have the Oakroom detail/color helmet...they are not oak leaves.

I have been using a mini maglight for a couple of years as my source of light on camping trips. Holding a maglight with your teeth is not the best thing.

There is so many features and the quality of manufacturing is awesome. I really love the red lens filter for night time around the camp fire...you dont blind peeps; and trust me this thing is birght.
I just some rechargable nickel lithium batteries for extended life.

Great package but....

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles

Rating for this product: 3 May 24, 2010

At the start of the 08-09 snow season I bought a pair of A Frames and I/Os. I took them up to Abasin in CO at the start of the season. So I did a quick 4 lap run using the both. 2 runs with the Smiths and 2 with the Oakley's. I interchanged the lenses after each first run. The I/Os were lighter, quicker to change and come with a nice carry case. Great package for the same price as one pair of A Frames Love the extra vision you get from the open lens. Con: The light-weight body of the google does not seem durable. Didn't like the clip on the band. I know it is to help you put them on a helmet with out having to strech the band then tighten it back up, but the connection seem very cheaply designed and manifactured. The Aframes wer a little more difficult to change out lenses, however when your on a lift that takes 10-15mins to get to the top you got some time to be doin things on the wait. The body felt sturdy and sound. In all I was sad to say that the thing that made me choice Oakley over Smith is the lens. I truely feel the science and materials behind Oakely have bench marked the Optics Industry. Now if only Oakely could get there clothing right...

Oakley A-Frame Goggle

Oakley A-Frame Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 May 24, 2010

So I am a huge Oakely lense advocate. There clothing; not so much...lower quality! But I got a H.I. Yellow lens to use in low light....the Fire lens are sick for birght days. only down side is that the little air ports on the bottome of the lens clog with snow if your riding in the DEEP. I use a Bern Baker HH and these and Wisdoms fit fine...Wisdoms fit way better though.

Great Price for Disposable Gloves

Burton Power Stretch Liner - Men's

Burton Power Stretch Liner - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 24, 2010

So I got a black pair of these from Keystone Resort. Perfect gloves for all around winter use. The get wet easy but dry fast. One mishap; I lost the righthand glove at the airport picking my buddy up. So, I bought a gray pair from BC to replace them. Great grip for driving too...sometimes too much. But wait... I lost the lefthand glove of the gray pair.

So, now I wear one black and one gray glove.=)
Only thing is that the thumb ends are going from striking BICs with them on.

Osprey...4 life

Osprey Packs Stratos 24 Backpack - 1300-1700cu in

Osprey Packs Stratos 24 Backpack - 1300-1700cu in

Rating for this product: 4 May 4, 2010

This was my 3rd Osprey Pack. This pack is perfect for a heavy day hike. If you can afford light weight backpacking gear you can use this as and day/overnight pack. Comfortable, Breathable, and it has a built in rain cover. My back hardly get sweatly when whereing this pack. I would suggest going to Osprey's website for more detailed pictures and descriptions. Only con is that that the very top pocket, for holding snackbar and other things for quick access, is lined with the same mesh netting as the lumbar pockets....it grips pointed objects when you pull them out of there. My 2liter Camelbak Bladder fits it nice also.

DAKINE Titan Mitten

DAKINE Titan Mitten

Rating for this product: 2 May 4, 2010

This are nice gloves being GTX and all.
But they will not stand up to rugged use.
The seams on the pinky finger sides of the came undone after using them from JAN to the beginning of March. Booo! They are warm and dry, but the construction is poor.
