Icelantic Shaman Ski

These would be fine for slack country but are probably a bit heavy for full touring. Depends how often and far you are planning to skin.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

Marker Jester Pro Binding
November 18, 2011
For Sure. The lighter Jester still goes up to 16 DIN. Although the green is pretty sweet.

Volkl Nunataq Ski

Baron and Duke are the same except DIN setting Duke has a higher setting. Both Baron and Duke have hike function. If you are going to skin grab the Duke or Baron.
If you are not going to skin grab the Jester or Griffon (depending on your DIN preference). If you are not going to purchase skins for these skis no need for AT bindings.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!

Icelantic Keeper Ski

I think you will enjoy the 178. The 189 would be cool to have for bomber open bowl days, but i bet you enjoy the 178 in the trees. Hope this helps.

I would go with the 181 for sure. Longer surface area to skin and at your size no problem to handle.

Lighter and less reactive to temperature change. Just as stiff if not stiffer than poly under certain situations.

Rossignol 2011/12 S7 Ski
November 13, 2011
These would not be my answer for touring. I would look for lighter and less rockered. Maybe a pair of lets say Dukes for some small slack country type stuff but these are not ideal for touring. That being said they are a really fun POW ski and butter through the trees.

Armada JJ Ski

Scott,
I am 5'10 150 and love the 185. With the tail shape and rocker they are butter in the trees. I also love the look pivot and you could probably get away with the 14. Good luck

Backcountry Access Tracker DTS Beacon
November 13, 2011
One Tracker. This beacon is a little easier to use. The Mammut has more features but is also pricier. I like to carry the same brand beacon as the people I go Backcountry skiing with the most. I think the biggest thing with any beacon you purchase is to practice. Good luck!

I have a couple pair of Norrona pants and the are slim fit and low rise. If you are a 32 large would be too big.

Dynafit Titan Ultralight TF-X Ski Boot - Men's
November 12, 2011
Brad,
Just picked up a pair from BC. I love the fit of these boots, but they are narrow. I have narrow low volume feet and they fit like a glove. I also own a pair of BD Quadrants which I feel have a little bit more room in the toe box and a wider fit. Boots are super light and have a great feel. Looking forward to grabbing a few turns this week.

MFD Alltime AT Binding
November 11, 2011
Hey Mike,
I'm sure these will hold up to everyday resort use. I would assume if you are buying these you are going to spend a good amount of time skinning. If I was only going to purchase one pair of skis for the season and I was 50/50 resort/backcountry I would happily use these everyday. If I had a quiver of 2 i would have 1 AT setup and 1 resort. Hope this helps.
