Nuun Nuun Tube - 8 Pack

Has anyone used this in a bottle after adding micropur to the water? I go backcountry and have never had enough water to get me to where I'm going. I carry 2 1L soda bottles filled with water all the time. When one is empty, I fill it, drop in a tablet and go on drinking from the other bottle. How does this stuff mix with the micropur?

Just not for MY feet

Oakley All Mountain Hiking Boot - Men's

Oakley All Mountain Hiking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 April 25, 2009

I was very please when I put these boots on. Very comfortable right out of the box. Enough toe room to keep me from bring uncomfortable when going down hill. Good ankle support. Waterproof, I can vouch for that. But these were a bit on the wide side. The ball of my feet and my toes were thankful, but my heels took a real beating. After the second hike in as many weeks, covering only 12 miles, thankfully it was a loop, I had blisters the size of my thumb on the outside edge of both heels. That was 3 weeks ago. They are only just now healing. If you have even SLIGHTLY narrower feet, do not use these boots. They look great and feel great right up till the time when you really need them to do their job.

Oakley All Mountain Hiking Boot - Men's

March 24, 2009

I have some StreetCars hiking boots that I have been wearing for a long time. They are like putting on really strong socks they are so comfortable. I am a firm believer in ubercomfort where the feet are concerned. Are these as comfortable as all that? I understand boots can be sized differemtly than shoes. I wear a size 10.5 tennis shoe. What size should I order?

Amazingly Comfortable!

Granite Gear Vapor Trail Backpack - 3300-3900cu in

Granite Gear Vapor Trail Backpack - 3300-3900cu in

Rating for this product: 5 March 20, 2009

I'll try to make it short and sweet. I'm new to backcountry backpaking/camping. I bought this because of the reviews. I have taken 2 hikes so far with this pack totalling 16 miles. This is one amazingly comfortable backpack. I carried 25lb. for 6 miles the first time and 10 miles the second. I had my tent with footprint and fly, foor in a bear boxer, clothes, stove, fuel, water, medkit, etc. The only thing that hurt were my feet.

The thick padded hip belt when pulled snug puts almost all the weight on your hips. Very easy to handle there. The straps keep the pack pulled tight to your back and takes any weight off your shoulders. I have had other packs that hurt as soon as I put them on. This one is frankly amazing. The only complaint I have is that no one told me about this earlier.

Thanks Granite Gear!
