Sanuk Hybrid Shoe - Men's

Sanuk Hybrid Shoe - Men's

Some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Good fit, sizing is pretty spot on. More comfortable than vans slip-ons but not as well built.

Excellent all around storm shell

Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 30, 2009

It seems like I rarely leave home with out the Mountain Hardwear Typhoon. In addition to frequent back country use I'm also out of town for work 2-4 days a week. This storm shell is light and packs down pretty small so it doesn't take up very much room in my pack or suitcase. Surprisingly when I weighed my XL jacket at home it came in at 15oz., 1 oz. less than listed (16 oz.). The Gore-Tex Paclite works awesome as I have used it in a couple of downpours and it kept me perfectly dry and was very breathable. The jacket also features pit zips, an exterior pocket that works well for my Ipod and the exterior pockets are mesh lined and offer additional ventilation when open. The jacket fits well I'm 6'2" 200lbs. and I have really long arms the XL offers plenty of arm coverage and is just a tiny bit baggier in the body than I prefer but my mid layers fit perfectly underneath. The Mountain Hardwear Typhoon storm shell has become my most used piece of gear it is an exceptional all around light weight storm shell.

Horrible lacing system

Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoe - Men's

Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 May 30, 2009

The Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoe fit great, worked really well in the water but has one MAJOR design flaw, the lacing system is horrible. The design looks like a good idea initially allowing a lot of options for fit and adjust ability. The problem is how flimsy the lacing system is there are no eyelets and the lace goes through an adjustable strap/webbing system. After 3 weeks of use the shoe lace wore completely through the strap/web. After my experience with the Merrell Waterpro Maipo Water Shoe I can not recommend it for purchase.

Great Liners

SmartWool Hiking Liner Crew Sock

SmartWool Hiking Liner Crew Sock

Rating for this product: 5 May 13, 2009

I bought these socks to pair with the light weight Smart Wool Phd hiking socks for a 20 mile backpacking trip in Escalante. The socks were great no blisters and wicked moisture as you would expect from a Smart Wool product. Highly recommended.
