Carhartt Canvas Work Short - Men's

Carhartt Canvas Work Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 21, 2011

i love these carhartt shorts because they have the same sturdy build that other carhartts have, but they aren't stiff like other carhartt shorts. the canvas is nice and allows for easy, less restrictive movement when hiking. they also dry off fairly fast when wet, not like other tech gear of course, but well. the canvas is a thinner material too, which mean more heat is released and less sweating under the shorts (aka less swamp).

Coal Harbor Beanie

Coal Harbor Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 September 21, 2011

this hat is nice, tight, and streamline. i love coal hats and when i lost this hat after owning one for almost 2 years, i had to buy another. its great for popping on and off if you are going into and out of places. it easily stuffs into your back pocket when its not needed and makes you look like a badass when it is.

Adventure Medical Natrapel 8-Hour Pump Spray - 1oz

Adventure Medical Natrapel 8-Hour Pump Spray - 1oz

Rating for this product: 4 July 26, 2011

as for bug repellent, its no 99.9% deet, but its a damn good substitute. two nights, 40 miles on the AT, and this stuff worked like a charm. it also wont melt your jacket or feel like warm cancer soaking deep into your skin, as deet does.

Petzl Tikkina 2 Headlamp

Petzl Tikkina 2 Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 July 26, 2011

Simple, inexpensive, reliable. this is a very straight forward head lamp without all the unnecessary bells and whistles. i use it as my secondary headlamp and keep it in my truck at all times. it works great as a cheaper, water-resistant, collar lamp for my dog too. he loves it and its not expensive, so i cant get angry if he managed to break it.

Patagonia Tech Web Belt

Patagonia Tech Web Belt

Rating for this product: 5 June 8, 2011

Ive used this belt every day for over 2 years now. it has performed great from the workplace to the trail. its nylon, which is sturdy for any belt, and whenever a little fray occurs (which has happened maybe twice) a quick flick of the bic will fix it perfectly. this method will also allow you to cut off some of extra length if you have any. simply melt off any irregularities and stay looking sharp.

Outdoor Research Sequence T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Outdoor Research Sequence T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 1, 2010

this shirt is light, feels great, and look good too. the only issue i found was that as i move around while staying dry, my chest hair builds static. its the only shirt i have that does this. otherwise i really like this shirt.

Gerber Sport Axe

Gerber Sport Axe

Rating for this product: 5 July 22, 2009

when i first got it i didnt think the nylon handle was going to hold up against slips and slams. after about six or seven trips and watching multiple users put the beating on this axe ive been proven wrong. the handle has held up perfectly; even with direct hits. it has kept its edge and can cut through branches and small trees with a minimal amount of effort. i got the 13" version because its more compact and extremely light, but i doubt the larger version adds much more weight. all and all ive found that this is a very versatile and durable piece of equipment that has exceeded my initial expectations.
