I've tried lots of stuff. But I've really settled on backpacking recently. I'm into getting away. Away from the people, the job, computer, sounds of cars...you name it I want away from it, for a while. This is in conflict with my/husband's website devoted to promoting outdoor communities and his philosophy of "sharing the experience." But I digress. About the only thing I don't want to get away from is my hiking buddy-our dog.

I can't say enough about this shirt. It's keeps your trunk warm when the air is cool, and cool when the air is warm. It layers well with the other Icebreaker items and is soft and doesn't develop odor.

Great for short legs

Icebreaker BodyFit200 Legless Bottoms - Women's

Icebreaker BodyFit200 Legless Bottoms - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 25, 2009

I got these because I have midget style legs and I didn't want stuff bunching at my ankles. They fit the bill perfectly. No itching, no pinching in the waist. Just warm cozy legs for sleeping and cold weather packing. And it's nice to have a color other than black or white for wool leggings.

Icebreaker BodyFit260 Altitude Crewe - Long Sleeve - Women's

Fun top. I like the thumb holes for putting on additional layers. Very warm. Great to layer or wear alone. The colors are great. The extra fabric in the back does wonders for keeping out plumber drafts.

Every dog should have one

Ruffwear Palisades Pack II

Ruffwear Palisades Pack II

Rating for this product: 4 March 25, 2009

Yes, as everyone says: size your dog! This is a great product. I needed a bigger dog pack for my American bulldog/lab mix, Jackson. (75 lb dog, size M) His food bulk alone wouldn't go in a smaller pack, but this handled the load with no problem. I'm not a big fan of the water bladders that this pack uses, but we were able to balance the load by shuffling gear and food no problem. Maybe we can buy different bladders later. There was a little armpit irritation but that was probably owner fault, not a defect of the product. The harness really helped lift the dog over tree fall obstacles, and served as secure/humane way to hold the dog when he got over excited.
