Merrell Chameleon Hex Sport Hiking Shoe - Men's

February 9, 2009

td,I would NOT recommend using this Merrell for a trail running shoe. It is very comfortable for walking but the laces tend to slip and it does not roll off the heel that easily. Check out the trail specific shoes http://www.backcountry.com/store/group/162/Mens-Trail-Run-Shoes.html -A good trail shoe will ride a little stiffer (so you don't feel every rock and root you run over)-Provide a secure lacing system (to lock your heel in place and prevent slipping)-Have more aggressive tread to provide better traction over mud and loose rocks.-If you want a waterproof shoe look into getting something with a Gortex liner.Mahalo, Sumo

Merrell Chameleon Hex Sport Hiking Shoe - Men's

February 8, 2009

Can also work as running shoes? I intend to take part in a trail competition (25Km) and there are lots of flat segments for running. I intend to do the trail in running shoes but this merrell got my attention.
