Nice boot but....

The North Face Vanton Winter Boot - Women's

The North Face Vanton Winter Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 1 day ago

Seems like a nice boot, lightweight, plenty warm but the toes are too pointy and pressed on the side of my big toe. They are not very supportive in the ankle area, and they lack a gaiter ring. They seemed like a good fit with my MSR lightning ascent snowhoes, microspikes and crampons, so if you don't need so much ankle support and have a pointy foot you'll probably like them.

The North Face Vanton Winter Boot - Women's

I think they are fairly true to size, I would have gone with the 9.5 if I'd kept them, that accommodated a heavy sock and gave enough room that my toes wouldn't be jammed up esp on a descent. I wear a 9 in shoes but my hikers are 9.5.

MSR Lightning Ascent Snowshoe - Women's

February 8, 2009

What do folks think is the realistic maximum weight for the 22" MSR lightening ascent snowshoe? I'm about 150-155 with my winter pack.
