great but be careful when priming

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

Rating for this product: 5 October 16, 2010

love this stove my father has had one for years and i bought one around a year ago and love mine just as much as his 20 year old one although now they come with a wind shield which is really nice for those colder windy nights when your trying to prime it, and that i runs off camping fuel that you can buy at walmart for supper cheap even thrills me more the only thing that is kind of an irritants is that there is no way you can start this thing up in your tent up on the mountains i know that everyone says that your not supposed to anyway but when its blowing 35mph up on top there its nice to be able to cook inside and this is why when you prime it you get a quite rather big flame about 4 inches tall where as other stoves you just light it and go

so with that said you can prime it outside make sure its ready to go turn it off bring it in and then light it again real quick and go to cooking it just takes a lot of practice getting this process down and i would recommend trying it a couple of times in the front yard getting used to controlling the priming of the stove and then moving and relighting it before going out into the woods or mountains with it

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 16, 2010

not to be used as an outer shell however because of its lack of wind and water resistance but worth having for those really cold days to put under what your wearing wether your hiking and use it under a light raincoat or skiing under a heavier ski coat this is the ultimate under liner its great for hiking because it stuffs inside of itself into a ball around 4 inch in diameter the only down side is that it is not durable at all it will rip if you even think about wearing in into the wood with out something covering it i get even nervous when i stuff it in itself because of the zipper there but if your careful it'll last

DAKINE Rover Mitten - Men's

DAKINE Rover Mitten - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 16, 2010

these are the gloves that i use when its in the negative my jacket fits over them real nice so that the snow doesn't get in the durability of them is a little shaky not the toughest materials but as long as your not touching the edges of your skis and holding onto rope tows they hold up fine

Rome Artifact Snowboard

Rome Artifact Snowboard

Rating for this product: 2 October 16, 2010

too soft for all mountain unless you weigh a buck 10 by the end of my first season with this board blew out the edges in 4 spots and damn near cracked it half rendering it useless great for rails and urban warfare but unless you can afford 2 boards or you do not like jumps or anything where your landing is more than 3ft tall this is not the board to get

these pants run huge i was afraid that just a large would be way too small because i'm used to wearing a xl but they are awesome extra pockets are nice a couple of the buttons kind of fell apart on the flaps but more for show they're also really warm so if your looking for a spring pair these are not it out in -15 with no problem

Eureka K-2 XT Tent: 3-Person 4-Season

May 4, 2010

from the look of the photo and from what else i've heard that everywhere that there is vent or mesh there is a zip up cover for each it just seems like there might be some areas that aren't covered and just vent is this wrong and can every vent be zipped up close because my last tent has 2 huge vents that i can't close and cause the tent to be very cold at night

The North Face Elkhorn Bx Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Heatshield

The North Face Elkhorn Bx Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Heatshield

Rating for this product: 4 April 21, 2010

this is such a warm bag i've been up in the mountains when it was snowing one night in a relatively cold tent and was still ok but had a really nice pad. the only thing i have to complain about is that it stuffs really big and is hard to get inside a backpack if your used to keeping your bag on the inside of your bag

Mountain Hardwear Viperine 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 3 April 21, 2010

i would barely call this a 2 person tent if you plan on wanting 2 people in the tent be prepared to have absolutely no equipment in there with you also its not a real warm tent
