Platypus Big Zip SL Hydration Bladder

Platypus Big Zip SL Hydration Bladder

Rating for this product: 4 April 10, 2009

I've only tested this out at home, so I can't vouch for it's durability over time in tough conditions, but so far so good!
I was worried that the blue plastic piece across the zip opening would be cumbersome, and unnecessary weight, so I tested the bag without it. I was pleasantly surprised when the piece slid off easily when I tried to remove it, but I didn't get the feeling it would slide off accidentally. Once I filled the bladder up with water, I squeezed it and flipped it around to test the zip closure, and it didn't leak or show any sign of weakness. I also attached the drink tube (no leaking or dripping!) and taste-tested the water (tasted fine to me). When I took the drink tube off a small drop of water came out of it, but that was all. I saw no reason to worry about it dripping significantly or squirting when taking the tube on and off, which is a relief.
I bought the 3 liter/100oz to put in an Osprey Atmos 65 pack, and it fit fine. This is the largest size recommended for that pack, and the top did stick out a bit from the hydration reservoir, but mostly because of the blue sliding piece (which can be removed).

Nice tank, but color is off.

Merrell Swift Tank Top - Women's

Merrell Swift Tank Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 April 10, 2009

I bought the "Havana" color thinking it would be a pale pink or coral (as it appears on my computer screen), but it is actually a very bright orange/peach...almost florescent.
Even though I'm not a big fan of bright, loud colors, the fit was so nice I decided to keep it. I'm 5'2" and about 115 lbs, and usually buy an XS in tank tops so I can layer over them. This XS fit almost perfect - snug, but not tight. It seems like this is going to be a good shirt for warm weather activities - too bad about the color, though.

Coleman F1 PowerBoost Stove

March 27, 2009

They really push the Coleman canister model #3250, but I'd like to know if this stove also works with other canisters.

Not Disappointed

Pacific Outdoor Equipment All Out Aero Mountain Sleeping Pad - Women's

Pacific Outdoor Equipment All Out Aero Mountain Sleeping Pad - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 27, 2009

Overall I'm really pleased with this pad, but I only gave it 4/5 stars because the "sticky" S-print is really not sticky at all, and I hate false advertising.
The bumper-like tubes on the sides do help you stay on the pad, but only if you're sleeping on your back or front...you can still roll right off on your side. That being said, it is thick & soft enough for me to sleep on my side.
I've only had the chance to try it on a cold, poorly insulated floor in my unheated house, but on this pad in a 30 degree bag I was getting HOT (I had previously been freezing on my couch under blankets).

Poor Design & Fit

The North Face Flow Cami Tank - Women's

The North Face Flow Cami Tank - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 March 27, 2009

I ended up returning this shirt for a couple reasons. First, the shelf bra & the gathered detailing don't line up at all. The detailing on the shirt hangs several inches lower than the actual bra inside, making my boobs look super saggy. The straps/sleeves felt quite long, too, making the top lay too far down on my chest. Also, the design of the arm holes is odd. You can't tell from this picture, but they are very large, and come around to the front of the shirt slightly. I felt like if I moved a certain way these generous arm holes may let a bit too much side-boob slip out.
I ordered an XS, which I usually wear for tank tops, but this shirt was far too tight, and the material had less flexibility than I expected. However, even though I had to struggle to get in & out of the shirt, the shelf bra was too roomy, so it wouldn't have fit any better in a Small.
For reference, I'm 5'2", about 115lbs, and wear a B cup.
