Kelty Mantra Tent 7-Person 3-Season

Kelty Mantra Tent 7-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2005

I picked one of these up after spending years bouncing from Coleman to Coleman. I didn't think a tent could be made that was waterproof, yet here one is. It’s plenty roomy with two additional storage pockets on the ends that they don't mention. There’s great ventilation with the rain fly on. I’m definitely not going to putting one of these in a backpack and taking off, but it does pack down nicely in its own bag (8x12x20 est.) I'm guessing it will be the last tent I buy for many years to come. The only problem I have is the lack of privacy when the rain fly is taken off as the roof is entirely mesh. Still not enough to take it down from a 5 though.

Burton Phantom Pant - Men's

Burton Phantom Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2005

Being in Japan, I wasn't too concerned about warmth so I went with a simple pant that would resist the water. I picked it right with these. They’re super comfortable; they fit and never feel like they're falling off. I wear them with a 2 inch wide web belt which makes them fit even better. I never wear more than some sort of thermal long johns underneath and have no complaints. They have elastic that pulls down over your boot with a hook to latch onto your boot laces just to make sure they don't ride up. Generous opening at the bottom with a zipper that opens even wider. I've never tried to put them on over my boot, but I'm sure it can be done. I can't say much more about the warmth until I get into a climate to put them to the test. Until then, these were the right choice.
