Icebreaker BodyFit260 Crew - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Great piece of clothing for an underlayer. i have Eczema and this is the only wool that I've found so far that doesn't make my skin light up. Great price for icebreaker but you have to follow the washing instructions perfectly because my medium is now a size for a small child.

Patagonia Primo Flash Jacket - Men's

February 15, 2009

As far as i know the h2no is Patagonias straight competition with gore-tex. Instead of out sourcing from gore-tex they just created their own. Great stuff.

Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 11, 2009

My second piece from MH and i love it more then the last. Its packable, its been durable and i think it looks great to. I haven't found anything wrong with this jacket except i wish all the zippers were taped but other then that there's nothing to complain about. Medium fits perfect (im 5 9 and 170 pounds) and backcountry.com make it a breeze to order from. Throw this in your pac and you wont even notice it but you will appreciate it when i t starts to pour. All in all i really happy with it and i suggest it to everyone.

Mountain Hardwear Offwidth Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 11, 2009

When i bought this jacket i was lookin for a durable cheap and a relativity light soft shell. I went for the MH because ive been only hearing great things about there products. When i got this jacket in i was impressed, i could tell it was tuff and durable and it moves really well. To make it short and sweet, its really a great, cheap, and tuff softshell.

Real talk.

Marmot Exum Jacket - Men's

Marmot Exum Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 10, 2009

It was a little unfortunate that i didnt wait 3 more days to buy this jacket becasue i saw the Alpinist on steep and cheap for 3 dollars more but after wearing it, it was impossiable for me to stay upset. I owned TNF Stratopher Performance Goretex and i when got the exum in i was very surprised on how light it was. I was a little worried that it wouldnt hold up but so far its been great and it fits great(170 pounds, 5 9 = Meduim)
I am a big fan of how the zipper extends all the way up to the nose so if the wind gets blowing you can cover your face in an instast. I am yet to really test it out so hopefully i can hit the slopes soon. This is my first marmot jacket and after this one i would consider buying more. All in all this is a jacket that costs less then most, fits great, loots great, and so far has held up great. Great jacket to make it plain and simple.

Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 10, 2009

looks great, fits great, protects gtreat, compacks great.
My second jacket from mountain hardware and they are still yet to disappoint. Im a big fan of the gore-tex pac lite, its very thin but holds up great. The only problem is i wished that all the zippers were taped but other then that it couldnt be better. Medium fits great and im 170 and 5 foot 9 and it still leaves a little room to throw a sweater or a small layer underneith.
Couldnt be happier. Real talk.

Hard to find anything wrong with it

Mountain Hardwear Offwidth Softshell Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Offwidth Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 10, 2009

Wicked jacket and i love the material. When i first put it on i could tell this thing was tuff. The main probelm with this jacket is that some people might not like the low cut for the waist. After putting it on and finding out that i was a tuff jacket i also found out that this jacket is meant ofr a harness. But it still is long enough that you dont look like a goof in a small jacket. The arms fit great and the i personally think the jacket torso fits perfectly. So far ive mainly used his jacket as an underlayer but i cant waitto pull it out for spring.
For the price you really cant be upset with MH piece.

Good jacket, great price

GoLite Sastrugi Hooded Insulated Jacket - Men's

GoLite Sastrugi Hooded Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 4, 2009

I do enjoy this jacket and found it to be more water resistant then i thought. It stays quite breathable and i havent found any problems with the zippers and i find that they make the jacket look more sharp, so i dont know what DA BURG is talking about. The problem that i have found so far is that it isnt as wind resistant as i would like it to be but i cant really complain because thats not what i bought the jacket for.
So all in all its a great spring and fall jacket and can even be worn on the milder winter days and for the price you cant go wrong.

Hands down best softshell i own

Arc'teryx Venta SV Softshell Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Venta SV Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 4, 2009

To be truely honest i havent owned very many softshells but i have found that the venta hasnt let me down at all. The gore windstopper works great in the wickedest of windy days and i just throw my Exum Marmot shell over when the snow gets blowing and it keeps me warm in the cold no problem. It was thiner that i expected so at first i was a bit worried how it would do up here in Canada but so far its worked out great, its held up through the mountains on my snowboard and also the labour of making ice rinks. Breathable, durable, and wind proof this jacket is wonderful, The only problem is that i wish it wasnt so expensive.

Good along with great price

GoLite Sastrugi Hooded Insulated Jacket - Men's

GoLite Sastrugi Hooded Insulated Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 3, 2009

Over all this jacket has held up pretty well. I also have NoT had a problem with the zippers and i think they make the jacket look a little nicer. It is a little bit heavy but really, not that bad at all. Great for spring and fall. Ive worn it out in some rain and it has held up well but i aslo am not sure if i would take it anywhere they might be a down poor, but for a soft shell it hold up to water better then others. My only problem is that i would like it to be a little more wind proof but i dont really mind because thats not what i bought it for. All in all good jacket along with a great price, if you buy this one you really cant go wrong.

Great Price for the Gore

The North Face Stratosphere Jacket - Men's

The North Face Stratosphere Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 February 3, 2009

I really have only used this jacket for the making amd maintaining of an ice rink(Not why i bought it tho). I really bouth the jacket because i wanted to dabble in to some Gore-Tex. I went for the performance gore-tex instead of the pro becasue of price and i didnt but the paclite because like the name, was to light. I feel like this jacket did get a good test tho, being put through the moving of pre nailed boareds (which i had a few stick in not through the jacket and was very suprised how well it held up and how water proof it stayed), the maintenance of flood lights and large amounts of water flooding in -35 celsius (never do that again). This is just a shell so i did need some layers underneath but it didnt let in any water even when i got blasted by the hose or when the snow was falling so hard i couldnt see infront of me. On the warmer days it breathed great and it was light enough to not constricted me. **All in all it isnt as light as the pro-SHELL but for the price you get a great water-proof and breathable jacket that holds up well to the elements.
