managed to lose a few pounds so all my gear is a size xl and i feel like i can swim in it. anyways im 6 2 and 170 I would need to leave some room for layering up here it gets quite cold.. should i go with the large or medium?

6 2 188 and i have a fairly large chest what size should I go with? large or xl hope this fits my large torso
Also can I wear this under a northface apex softshell and hope to be warm skiing in high 20s? got a jacket for night but just wondering if it will work would rather not wear a jacket all day it gets a little hot
