Fantastic Jacket

Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 19, 2010

I've got 22 days in this jacket so far and it's awesome! It's kept me bone dry on powder days at the bird and rainy days off the mountain. Despite the light weight the jacket is solidly constructed, it's taken a beating from trees and a few exposed rocks early in the season. The wrist gaiters and removable powder skirt keep the snow out and the thoughtfully placed vents and breath-ability of this shell keeps you dry and warm inside too. I wear it with a synthetic insulating layer, merino base layer and t-shirt and have yet to get cold on the slopes.

Check the sizing chart carefully. I'm 5'10 and 170 and the medium fits slim on me.

Keeps me toasty

Stoic Luft Insulated Sweater - Men's

Stoic Luft Insulated Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 11, 2009

I ordered a large (5' 10" 170lbs) at the beginning of the season and had to take the sweater off the first day. Partnered with a shell, a base layer and a t-shirt this thing has kept me warm down to -15 degrees. Even chilling on the lift.I like the style of the sweater, but I would mainly use it for layering. Go with a Luft Down Puffy if you want to look cool on Main St. For a synthetic layer, the Luft synthetic is great quality and hard to beat for the price. Just remember that Stoic gear fits a little snug, so size up.
