SOG Knives Flash II Knife

SOG Knives Flash II Knife

Rating for this product: 4 May 22, 2009

The best part of this knife is the pocket clip. Seriously, the "bayonet" style clip allows for the lowest, most discreet carry out of any style folder I have ever tried. The assisted open is reliable, the blade is a good shape/style, but the handle and lock seem to be a little off. The handle has a bulbous shape at the pivot point and the lock bar has some play in the slide button. To be fair, the handle is comfortable to grip and the lock bar mechanism is solid and secure, but each detracts slightly from the overall package. I'll continue to carry my Kershaw KO Blackout as my EDC.

Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket - Men's - DO NOT USE

Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket - Men's - DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 4 May 19, 2009

Great tailored fit, helmet friendly hood (even with the hat AND bala), nice long cut, and super storm worthy. The Theta AR tends to live in the bottom of my pack for when the fecal matter makes contact with the oscillating rotator and my wind layer just doesn't cut it anymore. Light enough to 4-season backpack and long enough to tuck under your harness, it really is an AR- all around-er. An internal mesh water bottle pocket in my older version with their new Vislon zipper would actually make it Hard Shell Nirvana.

For fit reference, I'm 6'2" 230lbs, and the XL feels like someone stole my measurements in my sleep.
