Great Design!

Thule Raceway 2 Bike Rack

Thule Raceway 2 Bike Rack

Rating for this product: 5 6 days ago

These are great. The cable system is very secure and does not stretch out on long trips (a problem I have had with the nylon strap versions). I love the ratchet and locking system on this so you can easily lock your bike and rack to the car. going over bumps or on good turns the bikes stay sturdy and dont go anywhere.

I really cant think of anything bad to say about it.

Last pack i will ever buy

GoLite Jam Backpack - Men's - 3050cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2010

I love everything about this pack. good material, compresses down very well, is extremely light, and feels compfortable. The hipbelt pockets are great for holding everthing from cameras to snacks. Waterbottle holders are big enough to hold a nalgene plus bug spray or sun screen, and i love the no lid design. totally keeps me from putting heavy stuff up there, and makes it very easy to get into. ive been through all day hikes in mild rain with this, no pack cover, and the material it's made out of kept all my tuff dry. the loops on bottom for making itsmaller not only allow you to use it for a day pack for small hikes from base camp, but also are great for tying a string to so you can carry your sleeping mat down there. granted, i'm a minimalist, but this pack holds plenty for a 5 day hike.

x2 on barely compressed

ALPS Mountaineering Compression Sack

ALPS Mountaineering Compression Sack

Rating for this product: 3 December 9, 2010

i got the small for my 2 man tent, and it compressed it down, but horribly inefficiently. if it werent for the long end caps on the sack, it could easily go another few inches. the end cap zipper pocket is neat, but the only use i have for it is to put my guy lines in. also has 2 plastic d-rings which are neat, but i cant imagine having an acutal purpose for.

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

Rating for this product: 3 September 19, 2010

This is a die hard stove, and easy to set up but for the money it should be able to adjust its heat. I dont know why they bother with a valve because it has two settings. on or off. even with the valve barely cranked tothe on position its still difficult to cook and i frequently have tohold the pot above the stove so im not burning my food. even then, its not guaranteed.

Great carry along

Sea To Summit Kitchen Sink

Sea To Summit Kitchen Sink

Rating for this product: 5 October 15, 2009

I have the 10L version for backpacking, and was thinking about getting the 5 L but im not sure if that would be wise since my small 2 person cooking pot just fits into the 10L.
This is a great item overall. Ive used it for washing dishes, bathing, doing laundry (long hikes and road trips), and even for keeping water handing to put out a camp fire.
Its madeof pretty durable material and havent had any punctures yet.
ive ditched the carrying case it comes with and recommend just shoving it into a coffee cup for storage. save a little weight.

oddly shaped...

Kelty Redtail Backpack - 1800cu in

Kelty Redtail Backpack - 1800cu in

Rating for this product: 2 June 23, 2009

I bought this because i thought the design was pretty cool and it looked low profile. one of the most annoying things is having water bottles always falling out of the mesh pockets. mostly due to them being very wide. even too wide for a nalgene bottle i think. basically if u dont carabine ur water bottle to the side strap it will fall out if u even slightly bend over. also with the way the zipper for the main pocket is designed it kind of folds up and gets in ur way if you have even light things in the front pocket. somewhat troublesome when tyring to get to the bottom of the main pocket. i also dont like the oval shape of the main compartment. there are many things out there that are square and rectangle shaped and dont quite fit.
about the only good thing is it sits tight on your back and is good for bike rides. assuming ur water bottles dont fall out while riding =0
