Not what I expected

The North Face WindWall Glove - Women's

The North Face WindWall Glove - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 February 2, 2009

I wanted these gloves for playground duty: 30 minutes in 20-30 degree weather. They were not warm enough, and these were the ones recommended by the backcounty staff. They also were not well finished on the inside--the seams were rough and scratchy. I think I would rather go with some fleece gloves. I do want to say that customer service has been great, and I will continue to shop here.

Great coat

The North Face Nuptse Down Jacket - Girls'

The North Face Nuptse Down Jacket - Girls'

Rating for this product: 5 February 2, 2009

Finally broke down and bought myself and my kids "trendy" coats: they were interested in the brand name, but I was looking for warm coats that would actually be worn to school (needed that cool factor) and could be squashed into very tiny lockers. These were perfect for both!! I got mine on the recommendation of a fellow "playground duty" teacher who has managed to stay warm during our 20 degree 30 minutes sessions. I am finally warm, too. I am fortunate enough to fit into a girls size, and don't know if there is a huge difference between the 700 down of the womens and the 600 down of the girls coat. I do know that I have been plenty warm, with just a heavy sweater under, when outside. I wish I had broken my pledge to not buy for the "namebrand" before this: I would have been a lot warmer, and so would have my kids.
