Yes, and then some. 40 degrees is pretty warm. I suggest using a layering system with a baselayer, a midlayer, and a shell of some kind. Then you can use a down jacket when you are at rest, or not moving for some time.

it will be close and very possibly not enough. I use the Camelbak peak bagger for smaller outings and at 2090cu in I think I might be able to fit what you have described. I suggest something a touch larger, if you can swing it. Sounds like a fun trip!

This is a good, light jacket, but it probably won't be as waterproof as a Mountain Hardwear Drystein or Arc'teryx Alpha SL, being as it is a soft-shell. The two jackets I mentioned are fairly pricy, though. A lower price option is the Columbia Stormin' Warm, which comes in a 1 lb 12 oz, so it may be little heavy for what you have in mind. You will need a battery. Goal Zero has a battery pack that is exactly what you are looking for. The BC.com item code is GZR0022. I use mine quite often. I charged it with my USB at home to start with a full charge and I top it off with my solar panels when I'm not using them for anything else. Good system.

Fleece is a good choice. Merino wool base or midlayers will be a good choice, as well. Synthetic layers will work, but start to stink pretty fast, usually.
