Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell Pant - Men's

Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 14, 2011

Sad to return this. It's just too snug. Ordered a Medium and I have a 32 inch waist. Without any layers it would be perfect, but too snug with a few shirts underneath. Seriously, I'm SO SAD! as the fabric is very strong and I love the looks of these pants.

Movement Skis Sluff Ski

February 19, 2011

If you are aggressive, and want added speed and longer turns, then the 184 is more to your billing. From what I'm reading, because you aren't terribly aggressive (and because of your size), the 174 sounds like the better option. 174 isn't for the girls, it's a size geared for you. I'm 5'10 and heavier- 175lbs, and I ski the 184, but debated on the Goliaths for the extra length. I'm very happy with my pair, but then again I am an aggressive skier.

MY SECOND WITH GOOD REASON

Rab Latok Jacket - Men's

Rab Latok Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2011

I purchased this in Azure (medium) two years ago. I have some 10 jackets, and this is my goto shell. It's amazing, what is more amazing is that I have grown, since that initial purchase, in the wrong direction. So, I sold the medium and grabbed a Large in Pois. HOLY BUCKETS~! This is the best shell I've ever had. I have Westcombs (I like), Arcteryx(s), Helly Hansens, Norrona, Mammuts.... but this one is the tank. Not as lightweight as the westcomb mirage, but amazingly strong. I also like the fact that there is not a powder skirt. All my other shells do, and I think this is a bonus for this jacket. Those skirts are overrated when wearing bibs. Anyway, this jacket is a lifetime jacket!

Arc'teryx Atom SV Insulated Hoody - Men's

Arc'teryx Atom SV Insulated Hoody - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2011

Why I like this: don't let the other atom fool you. This fits well under my shells, and is warmer than the LT. It's such a great purchase, and I believe worth $250. I never purchase anything full price in all of my 10 jackets, but this one I made an exception.

Mammut Warm-Quality Zip Top - Men's

Mammut Warm-Quality Zip Top - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2011

Why this is better: NON-ITCHY! those letters combined a rationale enough to pay nearly $100 for his base. It breathes, it stretches, it does most of what other base layers do, but it does it better with the NON-ITCH!

Mammut Alyeska Jacket - Men's

December 7, 2010

Have the same question as it relates to restocking the jackets, but also when is the price going down!? For Pete-Sake, what is with the new trend of pricing jackets at $700.

My second pair, cause the rock!

Marker Duke 16 Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 December 2, 2010

This is my second pair. Added the newer white/copper to my movement sluffs and I LOVE THEM! Not enough to marry, but will never go back to the lighter shotty AT bindings that everyone else produces. These are tough enough for 12 foot drops, and sturdy enough for any Alpine endeavor. Marker, you should change then name from Duke to King.

Of my 8+ jackets, my fav!

Rab Latok Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 2, 2010

I got this jacket last year, and it is my favorite. First, made of Event. The sizing is right, for me in all the right places. I like the added seat in the rear, and the draw to pull it up, if needed. The jacket has more room in the shoulders, and because of my stud-like build ;) it is great for layering. It's a great fit. I'm 5'10 and 170lbs. I go with the medium.

Never wanted to say this, but I like it stiff!

Movement Skis Sluff Ski

Rating for this product: 5 December 2, 2010

These are my new goTo ski for everything. I only wander through the grooms to get to A and B, and when I do I'm in GS mode. They handle big lines on ice like a longer GS ski. As far as what I ski-- they rock-- wide enough for pow, and stiff enough for aggressive steeps and medium drops (up to 12 feet). I don't really hit anything larger. Anyway, they are so nimble with this turn radius that even hitting moguls is a joy. I love the quick transfers for the trees too. I really love them and am so happy to have done the research before adding them to my quiver. Movement makes a real quality ski. If you like big lines, then go Goliath (even though these work well here too). If you are looking for a pow only then hit the flyswatter, but for an everything all ski, this is my new favorite!

Black Diamond Megawatt Ski

December 2, 2010

If you are going to tour, then get the Marker Dukes (strong AT) bindings that are more like tanks. They are heavier, but the 16 DIN setting is wonderful for large drops. If you are going with straight alpine then the Look Pivot 16 are choice for this wide board. You can always hit the Marker Jester, but the Pivots give you more versatility, I think. For me, I would only go with the AT Dukes. GOOD LUCK. Also, look at the Movement Flyswatter. ANOTHER GEAT SKI!

Arc'teryx Accelero Pullover Top - Men's

Arc'teryx Accelero Pullover Top - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 16, 2009

I purchased 2, the vermillion and deep blue. I am currently writing this from the Rustler Lodge, Alta, UT. It was warm today, 30-40s and I worked very hard in crud and am currently, "illegally" sipping on beer in the "business" center post-ski day. When I took off the accelero, I allowed my nose to inhale the pits of the shirt. Nothing, and I could smell my own pits (between us, I did the index finger swipe to the nose) and it was pure nast. The carbon fibers really do work!

SportHill Infuzion Splice Hooded Top - Women's

SportHill Infuzion Splice Hooded Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 16, 2009

I got this as a V-day gift (ahhhhhhhhh), and she loves the fit and color! She's not as into gear as myself, but let me give you my review as I inspected the HECK-out-of-IT. The sleeve cuffs that fold over are a really nice add-on. The fabric is very smooth, and looks like a great wicker of sweat. It's also has a great cut (between us, she lacks in the chest area) and the cut made me feel like she was an extra size up. It's not too tight as she wears medium, it's just a great fit all around. Very happy that I paid the extra $25 in shipping as I AM A SLACKER! The shirt is well worth it.

Black Diamond Traverse Ski Poles

Black Diamond Traverse Ski Poles

Rating for this product: 5 February 26, 2009

Great poles, but make sure you add the BD powder baskets. Someone mentioned the screw basket as being bad- I think they are wrong in that it' makes for easy assembly, and they do not come off! It's really hard for the basket to come off even when unscrewing them. So, take my advice- GET'EM!

Bern Watts Brock Audio Helmet - Men's

Bern Watts Brock Audio Helmet - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 26, 2009

What can I say but A+ Low profile helmet with a good sound system..... It is perfect to transition to different climates as the ear insert removes easy. Also, there is a vent guard that can be easily taken out. BC suggested this helmet and I'm glad they did. I now can ski without feeling "special" with low profile head gear.

Zeal Tensai Sunglasses - Polarized

Zeal Tensai Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 January 27, 2009

I have 2 pairs of Zeal goggles and this is my first pair of sunglasses. I have to say, the lens is great. They really hold up, and lifetime warranty!!!! you can't beat that. The frames are solid and light, and fit my medium face well. I was a tad bit unhappy when I could see how it was made. The blue paint was a bit off in the temple, but I'm totally anal about that stuff. Oh well, when do you see the inside of the temple? They are a great pair, and I'll get another pair of zeals for sure!

best small pack- killer

Ortovox Free Rider 24 Plus Pack - 1464cu in

Ortovox Free Rider 24 Plus Pack - 1464cu in

Rating for this product: 5 January 27, 2009

This pack is amazing, and I love it. So happy with the purchase. I'm 5'10" and am on the lengthy end of the 24. I am happy that I went with this over the 26 for this simple fact. I wanted a small pack, and although I lost 2L of room, no regrets. It has the amount of room that I need. It not only looks killer, it is just that. This pack is perfect for cold temps. I've been out hiking the last few days with this in -49 wind chill (-19 and colder in F). Because of fatigue or footing, I have fallen several times and the pack has saved my back. It also kept my inners totally dry. KILLER

Now this is a boot

Kayland Vertigo High Backpacking Boot - Men's

Kayland Vertigo High Backpacking Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 27, 2009

These are a 3 season boot (not winter). I got these and can't stop wearing them, and it doesn't take long for them to break in. They are a great fit and the lace to toe helps a great deal. I purchased these on the one basis that they are made of Event. Because I've been walking around in -19 weather, I look forward to putting them through sweaty and smelly hikes. I'm sure they will breathe 10000 times better than gortex, the archaic fabric. Killer boots
