Stylish yet not good for super-cold climes

Patagonia Fiona Parka - Women's

Patagonia Fiona Parka - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 January 19, 2009

I ordered this jacket from another retailer as I thought it would be sufficient for the -40 windchills of Chicago, but when I received it, there was a small hole in the left shoulder already and so returned it. Good thing I did, because as I was researching for somewhere else to buy it from, I found several reviews indicating that it was too lightweight for truly cold temperatures. Which is sad, as this coat fit like a dream, looked great, and had an excellent texture. Not for Chicago, but appropriate for places that don't get much colder than the 'teens. (I tried on the Large, which fit my super-long arms and torso while allowing for a shirt and thickish cardigan underneath. I'm 5'8", 160 lbs)

The North Face Arctic Down Parka - Women's

As the atlantic, yes, I'm not sure about the greenland however. I bought this because I liked the Atlantic but wanted one that was long enough to cover my thighs.
