Rossignol 2011/12 S7 Ski

Rossignol 2011/12 S7 Ski

Rating for this product: 5 September 22, 2011

I have the s7 and mount them 1.5 ahead of zero. I like the feel but am one who likes the feel of being a little forward charging on my skis. Doesn't feel over the handle bars to me. This is a quick ski 17.5 radius and handles all terrian very well. My take on this type of ski i.e. full rocker with camber, is that they work best in 3+ inches of powder but the more I ski it it works well as a one ski quiver as you ajust to this type of ski and the snow stays on the soft side. The harder the snow conditions become the more squirrely this type of ski is due to the shorten effective edge contact of the ski. For those stuggling with whether you should go with the s7 or the super 7, I would error on the softer side i.e. the s7. A powder ski is really about a softer ski feel unless your skiing some AK straight line. Just don't think adding the metal to this ski is necessary for resort powder style skiing. My specs. are wt 165, ht 5'10'' and I ski the 188cm. Expert skiier. Wasatch Front.

So Fun ...it almost feels illegal

Rossignol 2010/11 S7 Koopman Ski

Rossignol 2010/11 S7 Koopman Ski

Rating for this product: 5 June 14, 2010

Here are my specs: male 5'10'' 170lbs. expert skier, Wasatch Mts. Utah, skiing the 188 centemeter S7 with binding set 1 1/2 cemtemeters ahead of standard mount. The 188 fits me perfect. My every day ski is the Line prophet 100 179 centemeter in length. Binding set at factory recomended mounting point. Ok....so I thought to myself "what's all the hype with the rockered ski stuff. Can it really make that much differece?" The truth...yeh it's so fun...it almost feels illegal. The S7's are really a wonderful ski...quick, nimble, lite, great float, makes you want to charge the mountain even more. Greatly simplfies the crud and groomers and bumps are no problem. Best used in 3-4 inches or more of powder. Why they work...the rockered tips and tails allow the ski to release itself from under the snow much more easily minimizing the natural effect of deep snow to trap the ski below the surface. The over all effect is a much more playful ski experience even for advaced and expert skiers and even more difficut snow conditions like heavy deep snow, become a much easier ski. Effective ski snow contact on groomers for a 188 is like skiing a traditional 165 so don't be afraid to go longer than what your use to. You need the extra length with this type of ski. Bottom line...the S7 is a truely fun ski from top to bottom and the traditional camber underfoot makes getting back on the groomers to the lift so much the better. Enjoy!

Line Prophet 100 Alpine Ski

January 21, 2009

No the 90 is a fair amount stiffer then the 100, maybe take a look at the k2 obseth in a 179 or the line blend in 178 its flex is similar to the obseth with almost the exect same diementions as the 100.Just a note...At 5'10'' you need to be at the 179 length. Remeber the prophet 100's are a twin tip and will naturally ski shorter. They feel like skiing a 175 and one other thing, the prophet standard mounting is set ahead of most other traditional skis so you are natually forward on the prophet 100 which results in a little more forward foot placement on your ski...i.e. less ski in front of you to turn which makes this ski feel very nimble, quick and extemely fun to ski in all snow conditions. All though the ski is bulit very light it can handle your weight @ 215 lbs. You should be very happy with what the 100's bring in their natural make up. Trust me here...the prophet 100 is just about as perfect of a ski as you can buy for a one quiver ski, the 90's in my opinion are a bit of a compromise from the 100's and why compromise.

Listen to the Prophet!

Line Prophet 100 Alpine Ski

Line Prophet 100 Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 January 13, 2009

Listen...and hear my words. This ski is awsome! The Prophet 100 does it all...skis the powder fantastic, nimble in the trees, crushes the crud, dances on the groomers and even handles the bumps. I'm 5'10'', 170 lbs and the 179 length is perfect. I've been on a ski patrol in the mountain west for many years...I get pro deals on about any ski I want. I have to ski all conditions every where on the mountain and there is no other ski I would choose. This is a special ski. There is just something magic about what Line has done here. If you want to have more fun, ski better than you ever have going any where on the mountain under any conditions no matter whether east or west skier, get this ski, hook it up to a Marker Griffin binding and just plain enjoy!
