Bad construction

Alpina ST 30 Touring Boot

Alpina ST 30 Touring Boot

Rating for this product: 1 January 9, 2009

The brand new boots are comfortable and warm enough, but the third time out, the power strap snapped at the point where the Velcro ends. On a minor note, the metal loops that hold the front end of the gaiters in place, also came off. The loops´ metal has a small gap, and the metal must have been soft, because as I put on the gaiters, the gap opened and the loops came off the boot. I fixed that by putting on small key rings instead. But the power snap isn´t that easily fixed. My last pair of Alpina lasted for ten years.
