  • Stomping Grounds:

Texas parks and rivers (big bend #1), soon the Pac NW and all its glory..
  • Bio:

if home is where the heart is, then im homeless. nature is my passion. the mix of picturesque sceenery with incredible biodiversity gets my blood pumping. not knowing what's next and just going with the flow. passionate about conservation, we should all do our part to save this playground we call earth.

Patagonia Wool 2 Crew - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Patagonia Wool 2 Crew - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 26, 2009

this shirt is perfect as a baselayer in almost any temp. a midweight is probably better for colder temps tho. one downfall is the shirt seems to be really prone to snags and holes, as the shirt is pretty thin. still, cant really go wrong with patagonia

Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-Neck - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Patagonia Capilene 3 Zip-Neck - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 30, 2009

this top is really worth every dime, and i got it discounted on backcountry with great service as always. The capilene 3 works great in cold temps as a stand alone baselayer (i wore it alone while doing some winter backcountry camping in rocky mountain np and it kept me warm and comfortable). i am 5'9 220 and the XL works perfectly. get one! or two

great pants but..

The North Face Paramount Convertible Pant - Men's

The North Face Paramount Convertible Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 April 16, 2009

these convertibles are great for hot to cool weather hiking. several deep pockets are very useful. my problem with these pants is the stitching, its poorly done. i used these pants while hiking up a big hill with lots of loose/small rocks, and while decending i spent much of my time on my backside with my hands and feet to balance. the stitching on the back came loose after one use. great for most occasions but not good on tough backcountry.

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 16, 2009

if your looking for great rain or snow protection the marmot precip is the way to go. light and packs away nicely and still provides supurb protection. i used it in the pacific northwest in the rain and over a insulated jacket during the snow, worked perfectly. pitzips are great for venting some heat. recommended, and always go with backcountry

Sierra Designs Sirius 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Sierra Designs Sirius 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 4 April 16, 2009

i used this tent on three trips so far and has held up nicely. does not accumulate much condensation in the morning, lightweight in your pack, and the set up is a breeze. i have not had to use it in a downpour so im not sure how it would do in that condition (hence the 4stars).

like them but dissapointed

Merrell Meridian Short - Men's

Merrell Meridian Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 April 13, 2009

got these shorts for light weight hiking. love the nylon material and the wicking properties are great. my gripe about this product is that the second time i wore them on a day by the river, one of the two front buttons broke off. also, the stitching underneath one of the belt loops is already coming undone. these shorts have great potential, but i expect better quality from Merrell, especially for the price. got mine of S&C with great service from the backcountry team
