La Sportiva Exum Pro Approach Shoe - Men's

September 26, 2009

how is this shoe on ice? because we get some wicked ice storms where i live, and it's hard to get around. so i'm looking for a shoe that will handle well on slick ice, and not look much different than a tennis shoe.

seems like a great sweater

SmartWool Routt Full-Zip Sweater - Men's

SmartWool Routt Full-Zip Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 July 28, 2009

i bought this sweater about a week ago, and since it's hot here in Missouri, i haven't gotten a chance to seriously wear it around yet. and that's the only reason it's not a 5 star at this point. i have tried it on, and the sleeves are a bit long, but that was to be expected since i'm normally a large, and all they had was XL here. i'm 6'2" and 230 lbs, pretty muscular build. so if you're my size or smaller, the sleeves being an inch to long shouldn't be enough to deter you from saving 40% on it. i intended to wear it as a light jacket more than a sweater anyway, so it works out. it is very soft for it being a wool sweater. not as soft as the other smartwool products i own, but i think it's b/c of the way it's stitched this time. it is soft enough that my girlfriend stole it and cuddled up on the couch with it though, so i guess that says something.

SmartWool PhD Running Light Micro Sock

SmartWool PhD Running Light Micro Sock

Rating for this product: 5 January 7, 2009

i've owned a pair of these, and 2 pairs of ultra-lights for 2 weeks, and i haven't worn other socks the whole time (i've washed them of course). i wear them to work unloading trucks, and they keep my feet dry, warm, and i have no sore spots on them. i would easily recommend these socks to anyone i know. actually i already have. i plan on buying more.

great all day long

SmartWool Lightweight Zip T-Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

SmartWool Lightweight Zip T-Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 6, 2009

i live in Springfield, MO (the Ozarks) where the temp ranges from 50 F- 12 F in the course of a few hours, and 70 F- -5 F in 48 hours, lol. i haven't had it for long, but i'm already impressed. i've worn it all day long, during the day i just wear it by itself with a wife beater underneath, and at night when it's freezing or below, i just throw something windproof over it and i'm golden. i'm about 6'2" and a large fits me very well. it might be a LITTLE bit short in the torso, but sleeves are great, and it's nothing that would keep me from buying another one.
