Not heavy enough

The North Face Triple C Down Jacket - Women's

The North Face Triple C Down Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 October 12, 2011

I am on a never-ending mission to find a coat that actually keeps me warm during the winter. I am 5'9" and the sleeves are actually long enough (size M). This week it dropped down into the teens and I was freezing. The coat looks puffy, but it's actually pretty thin. Definitely not enough loft for such a cold climate. Another drawback is that the inside pocket is lower down and hits me by the thigh, which means I have to unzip the jacket almost all the way down to get to my phone. I wish they would have put the pocket at chest level. For a coat that is this expensive, I expect a lot more. On a side note, I've also tried the Columbia omni heat jackets and don't find them to heavy enough either. I can only assume the designers of these jackets haven't actually spent a lot of time in a cold climate.
