If you havent worn wool before, it wicks sweat well, insulates well, and holds off the stink. This isnt your grandma's scratchy wool, this stuff is uber soft. Definitely recomment. 6'2" 210lbs and the XL fits perfect.

Decent short. i'm not a big fan of the inner lining. Its baggy and doesnt provide much support.

The thigh bands are unnecessary as well. I'm not sure what they were trying to resolve with them. . .

Arc'teryx Rho LT Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 April 10, 2010

I agree with the other reviews regarding the uber softness of the piece. Unfortunately, i also find it VERY short. I have an XL and am 6'2" and 210lbs with an athletic build. Yes, it is tight, but prior to wearing it i have to stretch the length out. The stretching usually doesnt last and ends up exposing my back after a couple of hours. Disappointed in the end.

Not what i was expecting. It is very soft, but has a long fit. I swim in this XL and i'm 6'2" 210lbs with an athletic build. I wish the fleece were a little thicker because the wind cuts through this no problem. Dog hair is like a magnet to this thing as well.

This is a great no frills, light weight lite. It doesnt have many bells and whistles but is plenty bright for evening treks. It your going to be doing any activity where you move faster than walking on a flat trail, i'd suggest picking up one that kicks out higher lumens.

Rating for this product: 4 April 10, 2010

This is a great light weight, silky feeling shirt. It doesnt stretch like the patagonia capilene 1 shirt does. Also, i've used it running on a hot day and it wasnt able to wick aways the sweat quick enough. I prefer the capilene 1 but this is still a great shirt. Runs true to size. 6'2" 210 lbs i went with the xl.

Nice, but question how long they will last

YAKTRAX Pro Shoe Crampon

YAKTRAX Pro Shoe Crampon

Rating for this product: 4 March 7, 2010

These things are nice for my morning job on snow covered sidewalks. I question how long the rubber will last. That being said, they give me enough confidence when running to keep stride instead of tiptoeing along ice/snow.

I've used them on steep inclines trekking in the woods, and they tend to slip over the heel/toe respectively.

If you dont plan to abuse them too much, id recommend them.

Great Jacket.

The North Face Free Thinker II Jacket - Men's

The North Face Free Thinker II Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 4, 2010

I've had a free thinker jacket for ~5 years (pre off-kiltered zipper). This jacket is awesome. I have abused this jacket and it still doesnt show wear, simply bombproof. I've hit evergreen branches in the breckenridge, rub rock at snowbird, snagged a sharp tree limbs at snowmass. I have the black/grey color and wish they sold it with some color. Apparently, i blend right in with the masses and am hard to pick out. The hood fits over my helmet, the powder skirt is great, the goretex is still hanging tough.
My model did have some 'stripping' on it for aesthetic purposes, which started to come off. I sent it back to NF in the offseason and they fixed for free. I have nothing bad to say about this jacket.

Rating for this product: 5 March 4, 2010

This stove is lightweight, dependable, and compact. Its able to hold large pots and kick out a large hot flame. I've never had a problem with the auto ignite like others. Two suggestions: 1) invest in a wind screen 2) always ensure you have your stove place on stable ground. Nothing worse than dumping your grub over.

Great Pants. I'm 6'2" 210 lbs with a 35" waist and went with the large. Nice quality, nice length, nice material. The articulation is unrestricting. I use these for my all purpose winter sports. The North Face Foundation Bib - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 3, 2010

I've put in over 60+ ski days in with these bibs and overall they are well designed. At 6'2" and 210 lbs, i went with the large. I've never had snow down my back, never been cold, and the leg zips dump some serious heat when needed.

The only issue i had was with the over the shoulder strap losing its elasticity. North Face quickly fixed it and sent it back to me free of charge.

Patagonia Sol Patrol Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 3, 2010

This is a nice shirt. My only issue is that it is slightly oversized. I'm 6'2" 210 lbs, athletic build and the XL is somewhat loose on me. Im pretty sure i could have fit into a large, but enjoy the loose free flowing fit. This shirt is great in the summer when you want to block the sun. You will certainly stick out if you try to sport this shirt with jeans to a club, unless you are going for the indiana jones look. I'd recommend and certainly buy again. Typical Patagonia - High Quality.

I dont know why others are dogging these briefs. I wear two types of underwear, these and exofficio briefs. They both have their plus and downfalls. I love that these have no wasteband. I'me 6'2", 210 lbs and went with a Large. They fit fine. However, i will be getting XL's next time for personal preference comfort. These are great. Never riding up your crack, never creap up the leg. Provide good support, if only they were antimicrobrial like the ExOfficio's.

Salomon Tech Amphibian 2 Shoe - Men's

Salomon Tech Amphibian 2 Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 1, 2010

These are great shoes for trekking and stompin in mudpuddles. I thought there were on the slightly smaller side, maybe a half size. Any shoe you wear without socks is eventually going to get funky but nothing a little ammonia soakage cant fix. They are not very 'cushy' and i wouldnt recommend using them for trail running. I'm more of a clydesdale, so if your a feather runner, you could probably put 5 miles in them regularly without much harm on the joints. I, on the other hand, had sore knees/lower back when i ran with them. I'd recommend these shoes and will likely buy another pair when mine go kaput. However, if your real adventurous, i'd also compare the vibram fivefinger shoes.

Ruffwear Portage Float Coat Dog Lifejacket

Ruffwear Portage Float Coat Dog Lifejacket

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

My Border Collie, Grizzly, has been timid of the water ever since he went over the lip of a 4 foot waterfall. He was a pup and a stick was floating down the river and he decided to go for it. Unfortunately, he got caught in the current and couldnt get out and over he went. Ever since then, whenever we swim he gets so worked up that he has a hard time breathing. This lifejacket has soothed him and he floats like a fishing bobber. No more issue for Grizz swimming anymore...Although he doesnt live up to the name.

Mountain Hardwear Trail Gaiter High

Rating for this product: 4 February 28, 2010

These gaiters have been used for 3+ years with no problems. I am 6'2" and they come up about 2/3 of my calf. I wish they were a little taller since i flip snow above them when i snowshoe. That being said, the product does as claimed so i wont ding it. The under-foot strap, although somewhat concerning, has performed flawlessy with no issues whatsoever. They make a tight seal around the shoe/boot so no scree/pebbles/snow/moisture has ever gotten through. I would recommend if your not going to be cruising through snow in them. They are very light and the material is bomber proof.

Marmot Limelight 3-Person Tent w/ Footprint and Gear Loft

Marmot Limelight 3-Person Tent w/ Footprint and Gear Loft

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

Best tent out there in my opinion. I've used it in balmy weather, and the ventilation was great! I've used it in below freezing weather, and the ventilation was great. Little to no moisture on the inside upon waking, even with three people slumbering in it. The vestibules are great for your gear, or for housing your wet/muddy dog. Easy setup and takedown. The tent stakes secure themselves well. Nice height of the peak. You cant go wrong with this tent.
Its great that the footprint was included. I also appreciate the small window in the vestibule, to peak at how gnarly it is outside.
This tent has slept 3 6'0"+ dudes and 40 lb border collie. It was a tight fit, but with the vestibules, there was plenty of room for the gear. Great tent.

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

I'm 6'2" 210lbs and got the xl. Nice brushed interior, and smooth exterior. As the previous post, dog hair does not get integrated into the fleece. This piece has made itself into my top rotation of my clothing. I've got a bunch of other pieces to choose from and i always go to this one. If you have the means, i'd highly suggest it...you wont be disappointed.

Suunto Observer Altimeter Watch

Rating for this product: 4 February 28, 2010

Great functional watch. Watch your altitude as you do yoyo runs at the resort. Keep an eye on the barometric pressure as you peak bag some 14ers. Ensure that the 5k time is accurate with the stopwatch. Count on losing your way with the compass, its not very accurate and should be used as a backup. I go through about a battery a year, and the strap on this has been well for me over the last 5 years, up until last month. Luckily i wont need to replace it and the local jeweler can fix it. Great watch, i get compliments on it all the time. Compliments not only from gear whores, but also the fasion sensed ladies.

Gregory Whitney 95 Backpack - 5309-6285cu in

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

I have an older version of this pack. It doesnt seem to have changed too much cosmetically. This pack is BIG and is on the heavy side. I'm 6'2"/210 lbs and consider myself a sherpa so wanted a big pack. This thing is comfortable, and have never generated a hot spot on the shoulders or hips. The zippers are well made and the nylon fabric is bombproof. I caught a chipmunk trying to munch his way through the side upon setting my pack down for literally 5 seconds. He sunk those buckteeth in but didnt get very far.
If your looking for a big, durable, expedition style pack. This is it.

Nothing worse that catching an edge snowboarding due to flat light conditions...never again with these lenses (Assuming you have the appropriate lenses for swapping out) Easy swap out of lenses doent mean you need to buy new goggles when you take an evergreen branch to the face while pillow poppin the glades. Fits on a helmet nicely. Doesnt hurt the bridge of nose. Cant even tell they are on the face, except when you look in the mirror and notice that gnarly goggle tan.

6'2" 210 lbs and the XL fits great. This is my go to fleece and i have several of them. The inner 'waffle' pattern keeps me warm. The long front zipper dumps that heat. The body length and sleeve length are great. Great as a baselayer or by itself for strenous activities in cold weather. Also works well with the patagonia puffy vest over top.

Patagonia comes through again...

Patagonia Biostretch 3 Zip-Neck Top - Men's

Patagonia Biostretch 3 Zip-Neck Top - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

This is a great Patagonia baselayer. Wicks sweat well and has a tight fit. I'm 6'2" 210lbs and got an XL in red. The zipper is quality and allows good heat dumpage. The zipper has a slight rubber knob which is great for dexterity when you have gloves on. The fabric mesh changes slightly along the spine for extra wicking properties. Great piece. Get it.

Patagonia Micro Puff Zip Vest - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

Got an XL and im 6'2" 210 lbs. Fit is great, not too baggy. Arm holes are not too big. This thing is warm and sheds snow well. Packs down tight to an inner pocket which i double as a pillow when camping. No loose threads, no issues with quality whatsoever. Great piece.

Patagonia Stretch Velocity Zip-Neck Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Stretch Velocity Zip-Neck Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

picked this piece on S&C at a discousn and am very pleased with it. 6'2" 210lbs athletic build and the XL fits perfect. nice long front zipper allows the ability to dump heat as you deem fit. Nice brushed inside for comfort. Somewhat windproof. No pilling seen after extensive use. On the longer side, but its not a downfall whatsoever.

Black Diamond Guide Glove - Men's

Black Diamond Guide Glove - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

THese gloves are great. I have the 09 model and have heard from friends that the previous models had issues of pulling out the inner layer when removing hands. I have had no such issue. The dexterity is good although your not going to be able to perform surgery in them. My fingers have never been cold...eventhough i'm the type that always needs to dive into the backpack every chairlift ride while snowboarding. Get you some!

Great pants.

KUHL Crag Kanvas Pant - Men's

KUHL Crag Kanvas Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

These are nice pants. I'm 6'2" 210 with a 34 inch waist. The 34x32 was spot on regarding sizing. The pants allow great range of motion and are very durable. I cant think of anything that would make me ding these, although i cant really think what i would put in the pants side pocket above the right knee. I have a penchant for attracting thieves, so i dont trust putting anything in it to temp those with sticky fingers.

Great all around headlamp. The redlight is a great feature unique to this model. I dont have any strong comparison points between this and another headlamp, but have not had any concerns with this lamp.

Great Kit!

Mammut Slackline Set

Mammut Slackline Set

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

Fit what i was looking for: an easy one person setup/take-down line. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes. The quality is great. You can really bear down on the line and tighten er up with the ratchet. The knots in the tree slings are tough to get undone, but you'll quickly learn to improvise. Now if i could only find a place set this up over water to hone the backflips.

Asolo Power Matic 200 GV Boot - Men's

Asolo Power Matic 200 GV Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 28, 2010

These are great boots. Heavy duty, great stability/support, comfortable, quick break in period. I had similiar Asolo's for ~10 years and decided to breakdown and buy another pair after the tread pattern was running low. Personal preference would have been brown, but black will do. I just have to put up with comments about me looking like the 'techno viking' now. if your not familiar, youtube it.

Sigg Hot & Cool Bottle - Screw Top - 16oz

Sigg Hot & Cool Bottle - Screw Top - 16oz

Rating for this product: 5 May 29, 2008

This thing is pretty awesome...and im not going to get cancer rehydrating. The minimal extra weight attributed to the double wall Stainless steal is worth it. I find that it keeps my tea worm for 6+ hours and will keep water cool for about as long. I have had no issues with this other than getting it stolen at the gym. As a result, i had to fork over the cash for another while some chump is enjoying my original. Karma...

Blurr Heathen Pants

Blurr Heathen Pants - Men's

Blurr Heathen Pants - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 January 14, 2008

I like Blurr pants in general. However, there is some significant variances in the size/fit of the pants across product lines. I've had to send several pants back due to either being way too big or the opposite, nut-huggers. In the end, i have several pairs of 36 and 34 inch pants that fit identically. I assume this is due to a new company with a manufacturing process located in China. Hopefully Blurr will work out the sizing kinks in their manufacturing process soon. Outside of that, i've been very happy with Blurr products.
