Hi Rosemary this jacket has velcro down the front and at the cuffs. Check out the Leonidas Jacket it doesn't have any velcro down the front. Hope that helps.

This jacket is only water resistant. It has a durable water repellent coating on the fabric and that's it. It is meant to be worn and an insulation layer under a shell our by itself if it is not precipitating.
