I broke a pole to a TNF tent a little while back as well. I contacted their warranty dept via thenorthface.com sent the broken pole back and they sent me a new one. I would try that first.

Hi Mary, The North Face does not put any temperature ratings on their outerwear. That being said this is one of the warmest jackets they make and with the goose down insulation it should be able to handle the coldest temperatures you are going to venture into. Hope that helps.

I have always struggled between either using the undersized top pocket waist pack off my big pack or packing in a seperate pack when headed into the backcountry. This pack has solved that problem completely. It carries well and I found if I throw my thermarest lite seat (http://www.backcountry.com/therm-a-rest-lite-seat-camp-chair#review_200110152) inside along the backpanel it makes it even more comfortable. I can't think of very many trips that I won't be bringing this along, in turn it is a must have.

You would be "sweatin to the oldies" for sure in this jacket if you tried to bike or run in it. I would look at a lightweight softshell jacket like the elixir, nimble or better than naked jacket for any aerbic activities. Hope that helps.

Hey Hernando, the primary difference between between the triclimates listed are what type of liner jacket it has inside (fleece, softshell, insulator, etc), the other difference would be the features in the shells the more ski/snowboard styles will have powder skirts, media pockets etc while the more general styles will just have security pockets and organization.
