  • Stomping Grounds:

Los Angeles, but really all over California
  • Bio:

Now that I work in an office building and don't have spring and summer breaks, getting outdoors takes that much more planning, but is that much more rewarding.

Bomber leash

Ruffwear Knot-A-Leash

Ruffwear Knot-A-Leash

Rating for this product: 5 July 9, 2009

I purchased this leash after my puppy's last leash got unhooked when she was playing with another dog on the street. (With her new-found freedom, she ran into the street and almost gave me a heart attack when she was nearly taken out by a car.) With this leash, I never have to worry about that again! The locking carabiner absolutely will not open unless I want it to, but the leash material itself is top-notch. Finally, the handle even has an extra loop onto which you can tie waste bags, so they stay out of your way. Brilliant!

Perfect goggles

Oakley Wisdom Goggle

Oakley Wisdom Goggle

Rating for this product: 5 January 26, 2009

Just got back from Breck and Keystone and these goggles are awesome! They were fantastic when it was overcast, and they were a must for night skiing. I didn't realize how much they helped until I lent them to a friend for a run and could hardly read the terrain. Worse yet, he didn't want to give them back! Plus the fact that you can switch out the lens on bright day makes these the ultimate. Can't go wrong with these.

p.s. I had no problem fitting these with my helmet, although maybe that was just my particular set-up...

Perfect sleeping pad

Therm-a-Rest Prolite 3 Sleeping Pad

Therm-a-Rest Prolite 3 Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 5 November 7, 2008

After years of carrying around a foam pad strapped to the outside of my pack, I will never go back now that I have my pro-lite air mattress. Combined with the stuff sack, this pad folds down to the size of a nalgene, meaning it can fit *inside* your pack. That means you never have to worry about it getting knocked off your pack if you're bushwacking or getting wet in the rain (a common worry with air mattresses).

Great for its price

Oakley Whisky Jacket w/ Detachable Hood - Mens

Oakley Whisky Jacket w/ Detachable Hood - Mens

Rating for this product: 4 July 19, 2004

This is an extremely comfortable jacket with a ton of great features. Plus the Backcountry.com price couldn't be beat. The only thing I would change about it is that the Oakley logos seem to be painted on in a cheap fashion. Maybe have the "O" embroidered on, or at least use some decent paint? It was a slight disappointment considering how high budget Oakley gear usually is. But otherwise a great jacket.

Great eye-catching glasses...

Oakley Half Jacket Sunglasses

Oakley Half Jacket Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 5 May 17, 2004

These are great glasses. They're lightweight and hug your face. I play beach volleyball and these are the only glasses I've found that will stay on my face during an intense game. Great clear optics, they look great, and they stand out. I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for quality glasses that help you stand out.
