Bio:
Grew up in NY skating, surfing, skiing (as much as weather allowed), spent a couple years on north shore of hawaii.
Migrated to utah for great winters.
Ski and snowboard are my main focuses.

haha, yeah 6"1' you are going to need a large, unless you will only be in freezing cold and are going to be layering up big time.

I would probably say that this jacket is can take those hard fast falls that you will hopefully not be experiencing.
But you might want to look into the bombshell. This is made of some tough stuff, to be used for alpine climbing rubbing up against rough rocks. here is the link:
