Doesn't Work

Princeton Tec Scout Headlamp

Princeton Tec Scout Headlamp

Rating for this product: 1 December 8, 2010

This headlamp does not work straight out of the box. If you feel like paying for return shipping, buy this item. If not, move on to Black Diamond headlamps, they are similarly priced on sale, and work great.

prAna Mahdia Faye Top - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 December 6, 2010

I just got this top. It seems well made and the material is very comfy. But it is very small! I usually wear a small, I am 5'3'' and weigh 120, but this top is very tight. Size up! I wish I had.

Backcountry.com Cocona Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 4, 2010

Ahhh I got my shirt 3 days ago and I have rarely taken it off since. The cocona material is super wicking, so even when I am a bit damp in the pits I feel dry. I am usually a small and the small fits me perfectly. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 from me is the neck hole is a little tight.

Nice Layer

Outdoor Research Notion Insulated Jacket - Women's

Outdoor Research Notion Insulated Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 December 8, 2009

I have had this layer for almost a year now. This layer is relatively warm and compactable as advertised. I hesitate to call this layer a "coat" as it is not even warm enough to be worn alone during fall months in the northeast, but does make a nice layer under a waterproof and windproof shell. All in all a nice layer to have but not worth full price. Its just nothing special.

Great Pack

GoLite Quest Backpack - 4000cu in - Women's

GoLite Quest Backpack - 4000cu in - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 December 8, 2009

I just spent the past four months literally living out of this pack traveling through central America. This pack has really held up to some pretty awful conditions. The good: this pack is super light, and even when packed to capacity feels manageable for long hikes or walks through cities, is small enough to carry around in public transportation or even on planes, and is damn durable. The bad: the only opening to the main compartment is the top, so in in order to get something in the bottom, everything needs to come out. Also the lack of any small compartments makes it hard to organize small toiletries, though I think the newer model might have added an extra pocket or two. Also, this pack is really not at all waterproof, so plan on your gear getting wet in the rain. The bottom line: Golite has created a pack that is well worth the sale price, and can really take the backache out of heavy travel or backpacking
