Small size, sharp teeth, flimsy sheath to carry in. A bit on the pricey side.

Salomon Snow Clog

Salomon Snow Clog - Men's

Salomon Snow Clog - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 28, 2005

I ordered the men's Salomen snow clog in a size 9 but had to return them for a smaller size. I have a pair of these from a few years ago and never had a problem with sizing. These newer ones seem either too tight or too big reguardless of the size. I kept the smaller size ones with the hopes they will stretch with wear, they are comfortable but with alittle wear will fit "real good". The soles are excellent for traction. My previous ones are about 5 years old and are still strong but i thought it was time for a fresh pair. I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for a stylish and functional winter shoe.

Awesome Boots

The North Face Baltoro HV 400 Boot - Men's

The North Face Baltoro HV 400 Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 October 11, 2004

These are a well made boot. They fit perfect, although with the North Face foot wear you have to order 1/2 size up. They are warm and cozy feeling. The soles are excellent for traction. I retired my Columbia Excellerators for these, even though they had the same cold rating, both -40. The Baltoro HV 400 are bulit better.
If you can find these get them, they sell out fast once winter arrives.

Giro Flint SC Helmet

Giro Flint SC Helmet

Giro Flint SC Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 April 7, 2004

This is a sweet helmet. I got the white with gray stripes, it looks awesome! I got the size large and it fits my head like a glove.(21 1/2") so anyone with a bigger head than mine will need to get XL size. The sliding vent on top works without difficulty. The face guard can make it difficult if your trying to put on chapstick or need to wipe your nose. The chin strap receiving end could of been alittle longer but with practice you can fasten it. If you plan on listening to music like I do then you need to get earbuds or something that wraps around the ear and rests inside the ear. I have used both and putting and taking off the helmet will dislodge both styles. I have found the wrap around kind to be better. One more thing, wearing something under the helmet ie; balaclava, etc will make it easier to keep your earbuds in place when putting on the helmet. The visor will tilt upward allowing you to pull off your goggles and rest them on the helmet right under the visor, nice touch. Overall I'm very happy with the helmet and would recommend it to anyone that skis or boards out-of-bounds, big mountain or likes to push the limits at the park or slopes. Hope this helps.

Heli Pro Pack 1100

DAKINE Heli Pro Pack - 1100 cu in

DAKINE Heli Pro Pack - 1100 cu in

Rating for this product: 3 March 26, 2004

A large pack that is well made and very comfortable to wear. My only complaint is that the main storage area has only two mesh pockets one for your hydration pouch and the other is a small zipper one. I wish it had more outside pockets, the large pocket on the outside is great for carrying a shovel and probe but that's about it, it is held closed with only one plastic snap buckle, again great for pulling a shovel and probe out quickly but you wouldn't want to trust any small items still being in there at the end of the day. The straps are plentiful infact their too long and you look like a bag of noodles unless you tie them up some how. If you're looking for strictly a backcountry pack then this fits the bill however a pack for the inbound slopes or otherwise I would look for a different model or another brand. I hope this helps.
