Very nice jacket

Arc'teryx Maverick AR Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Maverick AR Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 28, 2010

Very nice jacket. I bought this to go under my Arcteryx Theta AR which is a size M. I normally wear a large, but in the Theta Ar I needed a medium. I first bought the Maverick AR in a medium thinking it would be sized like the Theta Ar, but I had to return the Maverick AR for a large. Nice jacket, I like the nailhead finish and the long arm length. It does seem a little pricey for a fleece jacket, but I'm hoping that the nailhead fleece will last longer and not show as much wear as my old north face fleece jackets did.

Fantastic Jacket

Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Theta AR Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 21, 2010

I love this jacket. I use it for hiking and skiing. Watch out for the sizing--I had to buy a size smaller than usual. I am 6'1" and 170 lbs. I normally wear a large. The large Theta AR was way to big for me. I tried on the medium and it fit perfectly. I have long arms (34") and still the arms were plenty long. I am able to fit an Arcteryx maverick fleece under this jacket with no problem. My jacket was made in Canada with the Goretex proshell (purchased Dec 2009). It repels water like crazy but breaths well. This jacket is made very well--I could find no problems in the stitching. The jacket is amazingly light, but still seems bullet proof. This is by far the most expensive jacket I have ever bought, but so far it seems to be worth it.

DAKINE Fall Line Single Ski Bag

December 8, 2009

Your skis might not fit into this bag. I have 177s and the bag only has an inch or so to spare.

Great bag for the money

DAKINE Fall Line Single Ski Bag

DAKINE Fall Line Single Ski Bag

Rating for this product: 4 December 8, 2009

I really like this bag. Very rugged and high quality materials-- should last a long time. When I fly with them, I use a layer of bubble wrap. The bottom is padded, but the sides and top are not.

Good value. Pretty standard pole that works well. I've only used them 3 times this season and I've had no problems.

Too much "relaxed fit" for me

The North Face Freedom Pant - Men's

The North Face Freedom Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 November 13, 2009

I tried these on and I did not like the relaxed fit. I wanted them for alpine skiing. They seemed more like a snowboarding pant. I am 6'1" and 170 lbs. there just seemed to be way too much material in the knees and pant legs. I ordered the TNF Liberation pants instead--these are supposed to have a standard fit. The Liberation is $178 and the Freedom pant is $128. I would have preferred to pay less, but I didn't like the relaxed fit.
