Nikwax Glove Proof

February 9, 2009

Hey Dan:I work at Nikwax; we deal with these questions daily. I recommend you wash them before treating them, since dirt attracts water. Once you treat them, you can continue to wash them in Tech Wash and not decrease the DWR or Glove Proof effectivness. You should be able to treat 3-4 pair.BenBen Ben

Nikwax Tech Wash / TXD Wash-In Twin Pack

February 9, 2009

Regarding your down parka, I recommend you use Nikwax Down Wash and then TX Direct spray. In terms of stain removal, your best bet is to take it to dry cleaning service, since detergents are not ideal for down.

Nikwax TX-Direct Spray-On

December 10, 2008

I am the Key Account Manager at Nikwax North America. Your best option for Carhartt is to use Nikwax Tech Wash for cleaning and then use Nikwax Cotton Proof. Cotton is the most difficult fabric to waterproof, since it is incredibly hydrophilic, but it will increase it DWR properties. Ben
