Pretty good shirt

Stoic Merino Crew Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Stoic Merino Crew Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 7, 2009

The material this shirt is made from is amazing, very soft and comfortable. The shirt fits well, but I have very long arms for my height and the sleeves are even too long for me. The sleeves could also be smaller in diameter. The thumb holes seemed like a good idea at the time but I'm not they're really all that useful. I'm just glad I bought it on Steep & Cheap and didn't pay full price.

Killer daypack

Osprey Packs Talon 33 Backpack - 1900-2000cu in

Osprey Packs Talon 33 Backpack - 1900-2000cu in

Rating for this product: 5 December 7, 2009

My wife got me this pack to replace a Mountainsmith daypack I gave to our son. I used to be a big fan of Lowe Alpine packs but this pack has made me an even bigger fan of Osprey Packs. I was on crutches for several weeks and this pack went everywhere with me. The people at the grocery stores even learned how to load it up with whatever I bought. The suspension is comfortable and minimalist, in fact everything about the pack is designed to save weight. It carries well, even when badly packed at the grocery store. I've used it nearly every day since the end of August 2009 and it still looks like new. My next full blown backpack which I intend to get next year will also be an Osprey, the Exos 58.

Great jacket

Outdoor Research Mithril Softshell Jacket - Men's

Outdoor Research Mithril Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 8, 2009

I bought one of these last year when I was in Seattle at the Outdoor Research store and it instantly became my favorite cold weather jacket. I've worn it in the rain and in the cold and for alpine skiing. It fits well and is bombproof. The hood will not fit over a helmet but that is the only fault I can find it with this jacket.

Spyder First Place Dry W.E.B. Midweight T-Neck

December 9, 2008

Unless Spyder has significantly changed the sizing from last season, someone with a 38" chest and 31" waist should get a Medium, not a large and no way a XL. I have a 41 in chest and the large is even a bit big on me.
