Black Diamond Telekneesis Kneepad

Black Diamond Telekneesis Kneepad

Rating for this product: 5 January 9, 2009

never had kneepads before, never thought i'd need them. once i used these, i will never go boarding without them again.

i usually don't like sitting on my butt on a hill, because a) i don't want to get nailed by somebody crashing down the hill w/o seeing it coming; and b) i usually look up the hill to see if my slower friends are coming down. therefore, i rest on my knees, and these are worth their price for that use alone - tough yet comfortable.

the reason they went above and beyond is because they saved my knees when i crashed in this huge ice patch i didn't see. i would definitely have been out of commission for at least a week if it wasn't for these pads.

with all due respect to other reviewers' sensitive skin, i have strapped these directly to my bare leg w/o any problems...;)

pros:
lightweight, flexible, good coverage, keeps knees protected and WARM.

cons:
vinyl strap is a little uncomfortable when squatting, i make sure it's always on the bottom and keep it loose.

DAKINE Torque Driver

DAKINE Torque Driver

Rating for this product: 4 January 9, 2009

very useful, my only gripe is that every time you want to use a bit, you almost have to dump all the bits out. also, when you want to use the wrench, everything has to be taken out to carefully reconfigure them to fit inside.

Burton Ultrawool Sock - Men's

Burton Ultrawool Sock - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 9, 2009

first time i've bought snowboarding-specific socks, and they've been great! not sure about rhv, maybe bought the wrong size - i have big calves and wide feet, and they fit comfortably and don't slip or bunch at all, even when the boot's not on...oh yeah, and they feel good before, during, and after a full day of boarding.
