Stop deliberating. BD nails down a great baseline once again! Don't trust your life to anything less- there's nothing like plugging one of these in a solid crack and cruising past it with 150% confidence. So worth it.

lightweight, cheap, strong, and a nice wide opening. What more do you want? rack it up!
if you want to get picky, complain about the lack of keynose- and then take out a 2nd mortgage to rack with those

Black Diamond Stopper Set Pro #1-13

Black Diamond Stopper Set Pro #1-13

Rating for this product: 5 March 20, 2010

Great set, great place to start. You could supplement these with a few other offsets or funky flares to keep things interesting, but these do work great by themselves in almost all situations. Maybe split them up to 2 biners if seconds count. BD does it again!

These are pretty fantastic. Rated higher than similar sized BD nuts, and they flare both downward and to the side, as do many cracks. I carry 1-5 to supplement a BD set, but will probably pick up a few more in the future. Get some!

Rope Bag

Metolius Ropemaster Rope Bag

Metolius Ropemaster Rope Bag

Rating for this product: 3 March 25, 2009

Cheap, Simple, Gets the job done- I find it hard to complain. The only thing I noticed (and was mildly preturbed about) was that the spring loaded draw-string keepr thing jammed and broke the first time I took it out. Whatever, nothing a half hitch can't fix. Stitching is solid, tarp is solid, shoulder strap is adequate, and the buckles look pretty gnarly. The only things this bag could benefit from is a beefier draw string keeper or maybe a hand strap on the side or top in addition to the shoulder strap. Still, not a bad product.
