Depends on how 'good' of a skier you are. What skis do you use now? Do you feel super-confident on those skis? If you can handle almost any condition without much hesitation; and with your hieght; you should be able to handle the 189s. If you have the opportunity, you should demo the skis first. Even a similar ski in the same length can give you an Idea of what you can handle. On that note, every ski is different. Also talk to someone at a ski shop that sells them, as they have most likely tried them all and can give you insight. Ski Hard!
