Women's Scarpa T2X Telemark Boots

Rating for this product: 5 April 24, 2006

So far, so good with the Scarpa T2X boots. The one great selling point about them is that as far as I can tell, they are the only tele boot that is made small enough for my foot (size 6.5 women’s). Garmont doesn't make them that small. Also, I went from what I think was the worst liner (old lace up T2s) to what is apparently the best, so even though I only have been on them two days, they were two very happy for my feet. I had gotten frostbite earlier this season, so I really appreciate the moldable liners, and although I haven't been in them much yet, my toes haven't gotten cold at all, which is a big step forward for me. Finally, my one word of caution is that if you haven't had moldable liners before, buy boots that you think will be too small. It's amazing how much room you get in the toe bed once they heat them up and fit them. A boot fitter would likely say mine are slightly big, but given my frostbite issue, I chose to go that way. If you don't have feet issues, I would go with the boot fitter's advice.

Giro .9 Ski Helmet

Giro Nine.9 Helmet

Giro Nine.9 Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 April 5, 2004

The helmet is great. I had shopped around a lot of places and selected that one. You can take out the vents for when you are skiing on a warmer day, and the fit is good. My only complaint is that I can't get the straps quite tight enough around my chin as I'm a fairly small person. Otherwise, I love it, and I got the best deal by far at BackcountryStore.com.
