Great Mittens

The North Face Himalayan Mitten

I've had these mittens for a few months now and have had the chance to take them up to 14,000+ft in winter conditions, as well as have them in skiing conditions of wind chills around the 30 below mark and I've got to say that these were worth every penny. I often wear them with light neoprene/spandex liners, with the addition of which my hands feel invincible. My only gripe is that they may be too warm. e.g. I wore them on a pretty rigorous snowshoe hike/climb in temperatures in the low thirties and my hands got too warm and had to draw them out of the mitts from time to time. Obviously, dexterity sucks, but having said that you can still preform basic tasks (e.g. zipping/unzipping your coat, grip a pole, etc.) I read the last review that gave this item 2 stars and my only thought there is that if you're not generating any heat, no amount of insulation is gonna do you any good. Two thumbs up here. Far and away the best mitts i've ever owned.
