Skied for 20 years, learned snowboarding about 7 years ago and I switched to the darkside - I will NEVER go back to two planks.

Awesome board but top sheet chips a lot

Burton Custom X Snowboard - Wide

Burton Custom X Snowboard - Wide

Rating for this product: 4 February 26, 2009

I rode this board in the back bowls of Vail, knee deep in powder, as well as Aspen Highlands bowl (the one you hike 45 minutes up to). The board floats with no leg burn and rides smooth and has a surfy feel in powder. Love the board - hate the top sheet. It chips at the drop of a dime. It's superficial chips, but it's annoying. I owned the board one week and I have 10-12 different chips and scrapes on the top sheet and I was being VERY careful not to get it chipped. So, you can imagine what it will look like in a month or two when I stop caring about the topsheet. I plan on using black magic marker to hide the scratches/chips.

Burton Snowboard Binding Elevator

How do risers like these affect the performance of the board. I have size 13 boots and would love to try riding on a normal width board and would be very curious to hear from people who have ridden them. Are you better off utilizing risers, or just getting a wider board?
