Best Shell Pant

Spyder Chute Shell Pant - Men's

Spyder Chute Shell Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2009

I've taken these pants from 22 degrees to 50 degrees days. Work great. Lots of room for layering on really cold days (no 22 degrees is not cold, well to some it is) and not to warm on the hot days. Sharp looking, many deep pockets (though I don't have a lot to fill them with) that open and close easily. I always wear a knee brace on both legs when skiing these offer plenty of room. Love the way the pants unfold over the knees, no pulling off the waist... so you don't display the crack... at least by accident. Easily allows access to adjusting boots. I would buy these again.... worth the $$$.

BEST Jacket

Spyder Pinnacle Jacket - Men's

Spyder Pinnacle Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2009

WOW... where to start... got the cool glade green color, always on stage... love it. Friends and wife can always find me. They pretty well thought of everything for this jacket... lots of big pockets... only problem... remembering which pocket I put something in... using it often helps with the remembering. The left outside chest pocket will carry 2 bottles of water (Ok, 2 beers, careful opening). Easily layers well for the cold, high (warm)collar that will protect the face really well on the "I'm being pelted chair ride or standing on top of some windy ridge". What it could use is a zipper pocket in addition to the mesh pocket on the "right inside" of the jacket. Negitive... outside hand pockets are hard to zip open and close... maybe they will loosen up after some more use. This is the closest to what I would call "the perfect jacket I would design" and want to wear. I would buy it again (but it has a lifetime warranty)so I may not need to. Steep on the $$$ but hey I figure I will use it for at least 8-10+ years and that puts the use/cost factor in the "it makes it a good buy" column. I have already recommended this jacket to people who asked me about the jacket... lots of compliments.

Warm & Comfortable

Spyder Over Web Gore-Tex Glove

Spyder Over Web Gore-Tex Glove

Rating for this product: 5 January 15, 2009

Nice gloves.... that fit like a glove... I used the sizing chart and got the right fit the first try. Easy to use, kept my hands warm in temps around 7C, nice idea for the pocket for hand warmers but just that and idea... I felt a little warmth, but not enough to really make it worth while stuffing them. If the layer between the warmers and your hand was a little thinner, it make work better. As far as everything else about the glove... 5 stars, looks good, easy on and off, strapes adjust easly. Looks like they will hold up for quite some time. I would buy this item again.
