    The Great Smoky Mountains
  • Bio:

Basically, I love the outdoors. I grew up in the mountains with my dad to show me the ropes. Now my husband and I get out as much as possible. I am a direct descendant of Wiley Oakley, "The Roaming Man of the Mountains." So, I guess you could say it's in my blood. I also teach yoga, spinning and other forms of group exercise.

Great for me!

Normally, I'm a size 4-6. I am a hard fit because I have a "bubble butt," so I ordered the 6. I LOVE the unique burnt brown (that's how I would describe "clove") color. It definitely has more of a red tone than my computer shows. The fabric is very lightweight so I wouldn't order these if you're looking for warmth. As far as the length, I am a little less than 31" inseam and they come 5 1/2" from the top of my ankle. I plan to wear them for hiking. Happy with my Arroyos!

Spyder 3/4 Convertible Pant - Women's

These are the most FUN capris/shorts that I own! I followed the advice from the 1 review (thank you, thank you) and ordered the Medium, even thought I'm usually a 4-6. The fit is GREAT! Not only is there elastic in the waist but there is also a drawstring. I love the elastic in the cuffs of the capris. There is slanted stitching (the same color as the pants) on the knees that looks neat... not sure if it's decorative or if it's for wear-and-tear prevention. And instead of an R & L to show you which leg goes where, the left zipper is hot pink & the right is gray... how fun! I plan to wear these as long as I can through pregnancy (I'm not in maternity yet). My favorite purchase from Backcountry yet!

My husband is a 32" 32"; the Medium Regular is a perfect fit. He loves the belt, as many pants "grow" throughout a day of backpacking. The brown color is different from the typical khaki that you always see on the trails. The legs zip off and over a boot easily. I want them for myself!
