Voile Split Decision Tractor Skins

Voile Split Decision Tractor Skins

Rating for this product: 4 February 12, 2009

well i had purchased at a higher price (silly me)
these things are fat. i got a bd cheat sheet cause i've heard about the bonding of glue on glue, like the others they almost run the length of my 58 split therefore looking to find a tail solution. mabye the plastic ones on the voile site with a metal reinforcement. Yet to use
the setup at all, although its all made in the USA, so you gotta feel good about that. GOOD DEAL this is what these should be selling for.

Voile Split Decision Kit

Voile Split Decision Kit

Rating for this product: 3 February 10, 2009

a long project with a difficulty rating or 4 stars. a steel cutting blade is needed (out of box carbide on inserts= deafening noise and an uncut board)fyi exp after is open A+ to what you want to do with it, i had installed the riser bar backwards resulting in a small problem. This i don't think will ever equal a factory split (unless an master carpenter putters in his workshop) yet to ride although i could never trust this as much as a factory deck (non split especially)
recommended for those fed up with bc access as is is.
Downsides: pucks, number of components (study pics carefully- leads to a large window of error, ruining a nice deck (cascade 58 ), and a large investment (400 +)
Upside - access, investment, opportunity, and pride.
3 for kit +- as per personal exp.

Exped DownMat Sleeping Pad

Exped DownMat Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 5 January 30, 2009

Its got my vote. Just be mindful of the 2 valves, one stays shut, while inflating. Bag works well as inflater and the "mat" basically becomes a air bed. Used on a negative chilly nite (along with a or advanced bivy) and its the only way to get a bags rating out of it. The ground is the most heat robbing point in a sleep system, thus this is as and even more important than a fancy bag. OR along with backcountry.com looking forward to other items, great return policy.
