TSL Snowshoes 325 Grip Explore Snowshoe

TSL Snowshoes 325 Grip Explore Snowshoe

Rating for this product: 4 November 29, 2008

Granted, I have an older pair of TSL 225 Rando, but I really like them. One of the primary features that I love, that doesn't appear featured on bc.com, is the heel lockdown. While this doesn't transform them into Dakine Verts, you can toe kick into soft snow, unlike most other snowshoes. Also, the spikes on the bottom of mine are awesome, I keep the covers on them most of the time, but on open ice (think early am Cascade glaciers in spring), they are as good as crampons (WITH a heel lift!). I have a splitboard with skins/crampons, and on a day when I am pretty much going straight up the fall line on ice/crust in the AM, it is a toss-up whether to take the TSL snowshoes and my (lighter) solid board, or go with the full splitter set up.
Also, bc.com site says they are not compatible with snowboard boots. Again, my TSL's are older, but I have no problem getting my size 28.5 Salomon or Northwave boots to fit.
