Marmot Genesis Softshell Jacket - Men's

September 26, 2009

Finally the sun woke up, so we hurried to get some PICs, and save our a%&es down. Windchill really took a toll of our intentions to have breakfast on top of Mexico. Maybe with another layer besides GENESIS jacket, MH Parbat, and PatagoniaCap3 we could have made it. But at base camp at 16500' this jacket kicked butt. Buy one at Backcountry and layer up if you are going to temps below 0 and severe wind.

Marmot Genesis Softshell Jacket - Men's

September 26, 2009

Here with my Genesis on my 3rd summit of Pico de Orizaba. Everything went OK until we reached the summit at 0545, gusts of wind of 60mph and temps of 0F.Had to jump, move, in order to generate some heat. I overestimated this bombershell insulation, putting only my MH Parbat and PatagoniaCap3 underwear. But that wasn't Genesis fault correct? Overall GREAT jacket. Buy one!

Marmot Genesis Softshell Jacket - Men's

September 26, 2009

I wore my Genesis Softshell for a summit ascent to Xinantecatl. We camped at 15100' with magnificent views of Popo and Izta volcanoes. Grear jacket, windproof, waterproof and sooo breathable, unbelievable, pearls of sweat literally came out of this jacket. A must for high altitude. Winds reached @50mph, no problem with a MH Parbat on bottom.

La Sportiva Nuptse Mountaineering Boot - Men's

November 28, 2008

I'm planning an expedition to Aconcagua, and I'm wondering whether these boots will make the deal for the whole journey to the summit, which normally takes between 6 and 10 days depending on weather and acclim.
